On 7.9.2019 car was in eco mode. Went down hill, stopped at light to turn right. Car turned off as should but would not come back on. Almost got rear ended as, no power to car as was trying to pull off to side of road, almost hit guardrail because could not turn wheel easily as no power steering. Car was in drive still. Had to try and get out of the way before I could attempt to restart. Had to put in park and start engine again. Very dangerous. The eco on/off does not always go off when it should even though it is turned on. Same day, same route. Stopped at stop signs or red lights and sometimes shuts car off and sometimes does not.

Engine abruptly loses power when driving at normal speeds in both city and highway conditions causing potential injury and/or death to drivers and passengers. Jaguar/Land Rover is aware of this problem and continues to sell vehicles affected by this condition. Jaguar/Land Rover has been working on a software fix (P0190 software patch) for months, but has not notified drivers of this potentially serious condition.
