Visibility: Defroster/defogger system: Windshield: Blower for 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited. Dual climate controls are inoperable and cold air is constantly blowing on my windshield interior, causing it to fog up, limiting my visibility considerably.

Grand Cherokee

  • 95,000 miles
Repeated failure of blower fan for which there is apparently not a suitable fix from Jeep. Current fix is either (a) part from supplier other than Jeep which fails every 6-9 months or (B) Jeep recommended part which reduced air volume so dramatically that defrosting windows is unsafe. Failure of the blower motor is also unsafe due to the inability to defrost the windows.

I own a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee with dual climate control. Whenever I try and use the heat it does not work, I have no front defrost for my windshield. The only air coming out of my heating system is cold air. It is because of a faulty blend air door. This can be a dangerous problem if in the cold weather the windshield fogs up, there is no way to defrost it. Visibility: Defroster/defogger system:windshield:blower.

I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee with about 35,000 miles. The heating system has recently stopped working. I checked this problem on the internet and it seems that many 1999-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee have this problem. It appears to be quite costly to repair. It obviously affects visibility on the windshield.

Dual side heating and air is not working properly on my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Passenger side is ice cold constantly, while my driver's side is working properly for now, but for how much longer? after a lot of reading of other articles, there should most absolutely be a recall, especially if I have to pay that kind of money to get it fixed, then I should be reimbursed.

I get no heat coming out of the vents, only cold air. It was 10 degrees this morning and I have a 45 minute drive to work with no heat. Could be a safety issue if I didn't park in a garage. There would be no way of clearing the windshield of ice. Went to the dealer and they tell me it could be at a minimum $1,200 to fix it and then they won't guarantee it will be a permanant fix.

2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee= my vehicle should have been covered under the lemon laws of the us. Equipment failures: - window regulators- replaced 2 - heated seats- both seats have the wires burnt in two in them; possible fire hazard...not covered in recall of a later year - blend doors broke- had to replace all three motors and doors - left turn signal does not function consistently - door lock system is failing: Driver's door has quit locking; has to be done manually; back door behind the driver makes a squawking noise when you lock the doors, tailgate is not locking; alarm will go off if you open the door, but it is not locked. _constant small coolant leak.

The contact owns a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. When the contact attempts to activate the heater in cold weather, it does not function properly. She also cannot defrost the windshield while driving at any speed. The mechanic stated that the blend air door caused the failure, which is common for the Grand Cherokee when it reaches 50,000 miles or greater. The current and failure mileages were 85,000.

My passenger side air vents suddenly started blowing cold air in 2005. When I took it to the shop I was told it was the blend door which would require removing the whole dash and cost approximately $800. I asked if there was a recall on this problem since it appeared to be a manufacturer's defective problem. I was told there was no recall, but that made no sense to me. I did some research and found that I am not alone in the problem. Something should be done about this because many people can't afford such a costly manufacturer's defect repair.
