The UConnect is malfunctioning, and my vehicle is available for inspect upon request. However I have many videos of the issue. It is exhibiting a -€œphantom touch-€ where it will click on buttons and change settings. My life was in danger when it would turn my windshield defrost on and off/change the temperature causing the windshield to fog up. It completely binds me while driving and I have to attempt to pull over and manually wipe the windshield. It is also constantly pressing the SOS button and calling 911, and I have to explain to the dispatcher that it is not an emergency/my truck is calling them (it-€™s a federal crime to call 911 repeatedly without an emergency). It has been confirmed by public forums and by another known customer. I am having it confirmed by the dealership today. The item has been inspected by those in the vehicle and getting inspected by the dealer. There is no lights or error code associated with the issue.

U-Connect, navigation, back up camera, screen, ac/heat controls, phone, radio, wipers, seat vents/heat all effected....navigation will not stop navigating when canceling route, back up camera stayed on over 3 hrs while I was driving which lit up everything behind me, phone when connected calls random numbers when I'm not even trying to make calls, radio jumps from station to station with out being touched. Wipers periodically come on by themselves when not raining and not turned to come on, a constant cluck when radio is jumping from station to station. Seat controls just decide when the want to heat/cool seats on their own. This should be a safety recall as trying to keep the phone from dialing 911 and other numbers you must take your eyes off the road, the back up camera remaining on consistently is dangerous as well. Dealer says about 1500 to change it out.. Recall this system please!!

The touch screen in my vehicle, that controls everything from heat& A/C, GPS, radio, heated seats/steering wheel, and also connects with my phone. It automatically changes constantly without warning causing me to have to switch back or turn off what it may have turned on. It changes my directions when I use it to go to unfamiliar places forcing me to briefly take my eyes off the road to navigate the screen.

The in-dash audio system is shorting out. GPS will not work; U-Connect cannot make or receive calls (safety issue); U-Connect will make random phone calls over and over again, causing the driver to try and stop the calls while driving (safety issue); radio changes constantly between radio, Sirius, Aux and Phone (you cannot turn it off). It also affects the a/c and heat. I cannot believe this issue has not been recalled. I understand it is a real problem in the Ram trucks. Dodge needs to take care of this immediately! I do not drive the truck much because it is dangerous.

The Uconnect display system is delaminating and it is causing the computer system to randomly start turning systems on and off as well as not allowing the navigation system to function properly. The air conditioner is effected as well as the radio and CarPlay system.

Turning onto a main hwy, vehicle would not move forward. Response time for throttle was more than 5 seconds. Car behind me had to slam on their brakes on order to not hit me. Vehicle is continually having throttle response issues.

The Uconnect 8.4 inch radio is delaminating causing uncommanded inputs into the vehicles climate, sound system, and phone access. The vehicle changing music and climate is distracting, but the commands in phone access are extremely distracting and could cause safety issues to others. This is also a very common issue according to others and although some have received a FCA goodwill warranty I was not able to. The goodwill warranty tells me Chrysler and Uconnect know this is a common issue that needs to be corrected. Also, Chryslers fix is to replace the radio when the glue between the digitizer (touch screen) and main unit melts despite the main unit not being the cause of the defect. So charging people $1,000 dollars for a new unit is a bandaid issue as the unit will just delaminate again. This issue needs a more effective solution.

My radio began changing channels, volume, settings and controls. The radio began making phone calls. The air conditioning and heat would increase and decrease on it's own. Very scary driving down the road and volume of the radio would increase without warning and could not be turned down.

The ram 8.4 uconnect screen is delaminating. This causing the screen to "ghost click" everywhere constantly. This includes: randomly calling people, changing radio stations, changing volume, clicking in and out of my map/navigation, changing clock, changing climate control, etc. It is very distracting and dangerous while driving. Its basically unusable and even once it started an emergency call over and over.

Please help this is an ongoing safety issue that causes my phantom touching on my stereo screen. The screen is not just radio but air, cameras and many other electrical settings. The heat will come on going down the highway when there is no air turned on. The backup camera will pop up on the screen causing a pretty uncomfortable feeling when going down the road at 70mph. Along with apps opening up, random phone calls through the Uconnect system causing me to try and switch the system off. This is a problem that is visible all across the internet while dealers and others are taking advantage charging money for the fix. Last June I started noticing a bubble in the left portion of my screen. I took the truck into the dealership I bought it from and my warranty had gone out so they would not help. Ive tried contact dodge and they keep running me around passing me to different departments. The issue is now to where I can-€™t do anything with the radio and it constantly phantom pushing of buttons. I have researched the issue and this is common problem all across Chrysler and dodge vehicles around 2018.

I was driving my 2018 RAM at night when it suddenly started to smoke. I had to stop in the middle of the road to find coolant had splattered on part of the engine and was leaking. Upon further inspection this morning I found there is a missing bolt on the radiator and it is cracked and a hose apparently burst. Called the dealership and states this is not covered by the warranty since I-€™m on my 4th year and the type of part that it is, however, the only people to have ever worked on this vehicle have been the dealership and they have never had to do any repairs on the car, only regular oil changes and a warranty repair to my Uconnect screen that was faulty. There is no reason why this would have happened other thanks faulty parts. Upon investigating further I found that 2018 Rams with Ecodiesel engine(I have a gas engine) have a recall for the same issue and many people are having issues getting repair issues due to parts. I have also found other people with gas engines with similar issues. I-€™d like to have some resolution with the manufacturer do they may cover their issue, not have to pay out of pocket for this.

Uconnect 8.4 graphic panel (radio, navigation, climate control, etc...) is de-laminating causing random systems outcomes and dangerous driver distractions. Online research shows this is caused by some chemical between the outer touch sensitive screen and inner radio screen itself leaking out the bottom of the assembly. I'm concerned about what this chemical is and its toxicity to humans both breathing it or potentially touching it. This is a well know and common deficiency, especially within 2018 models, which the manufacturer will only address if still under warranty (all 2018 Chrysler vehicles are past the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty period.)

My complaint is with the infotainment system 8.4 uconnect screen delaminating. This delamination is causing ghost touches on the screen. It causes the A/C and heat to switch on and off. Changes the ride height on my air ride to adjust. Has made random phone calls when connected to my phone, changes radio stations. Almost every system in the truck is controlled from the radio screen and it cam and has changes things while driving cause distractions and possible unsafe actions to occur. I am having problems with the 8.4 uconnect radio. 1 week after I purchased the truck (used) I noticed that the screen was cracked on the radio. Since then, the radio has gone haywire. It has tried making SOS calls (service is disconnected), randomly called people from my phone book. The radio will randomly switch radio stations or bands, and will turn itself on and off while driving. It will turn the a/c on and off or will make the fans go from low to full blast. When backing up the backup camera will randomly go back. I can't pull the fuse because the touch screen controls everything.

My Uconnect 8.4 screen is becoming to delaminated on my 2018 ram 1500 limited, the system is beginning to fail i.e. random calling, GPS issues and possible other integrated safety features. Driving in the National Capital Region in Maryland is dangerous and relay heavy on the display display. The problem has been reported however it is not covered. there are numerous posts and complaints regarding similar occurrences and it has not been issued as a recall. this shouldn't happen on new vehicle and needs to be corrected before some is injured.

My 2018 (30,134.mi) Ram pickup truck design is defective. Specifically, the defective fuel tank filler neck (the -€œFiller Neck Defect-€) cause standard gas-station nozzles-€"which work perfectly well with other vehicles-€"to become lodged in the opening to my Ram fuel tanks. I have to physically wrench the gas nozzle free. A side effect of the filler neck-€™s design is that it triggers the gas pumps-€™ automatic shutoff when the tank isn-€™t full yet. U Connect 8.4 screen is delaminating causing distracting information to appear on screen. Keeps asking if I want to adjust the clock. If you touch yes, no, or X it will reappear seconds later with an annoying beep and continue over and over. This is a known problem among many Dodge and Chrysler vehicles which they refuse to address if out of their basic warranty. My vehicle only has 21,289 mi. at this time.

Due to manufacturing defect the screens on the navigation unit have begun delaminatig from the actual system. This results in the inability to view map and other controls safely. As result hands free communications and map viewing are not possible. The screens should be repaired to their OEM state before somebody gets killed trying to fumble their phone since the OEM equipment is defective.

The In-Car Entertainment System is responsible for controlling multiple sources of entertainment, climate control, heads-up navigation, hands-free phone use, and others. The unit is the Uconnect 4C by Harman. This system has a problem with the touchscreen delaminating, or coming loose, from the display. When this happens, the touchscreen will send multiple and variable "touches" without user involvement. While driving my vehicle on 10/5/2021, this fault caused my navigation system to change to an unreadable state, which resulted in a serious distraction while driving. The distraction lead to my approaching near to another vehicle on the road and resulting in a subsequent swerve to avoid a collision. This problem is a SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE due to the distracting nature of the display in this condition. The issue is a known issue by both Uconnect company and the Chrysler company. I have reported the safety issue and they are unwilling to address it. The first picture provided shows the delamination of the touchscreen from the display. The effect can be seen by a semi-circular line about halfway down the display. The second picture provided shows a non-commanded screen press at the top center of the screen (note the circle indicating the recognition of a push). This was observed to happen 14 times in 16 seconds. I have videos (not provided) of the what happens during navigation. It is extremely distracting during navigation and makes driving in a high-traffic situation almost impossible. There is not a way to turn off the display, which in turn forces the distraction continuously and without a way for driver intervention. This problem is known throughout the industry, which I learned by contacting my local Dodge dealer and the Uconnect company. Many reports exist on the internet, also. NOTE: This is not a wear out item and there is nothing in the manual about routine safety maintenance on the touchscreen or the unit. i.e. not user serviceable.
