I picked up this car from the dealer in Connecticut on 01-02-2019. I drove it locally for a few months before setting out. From San Diego traveling to Denver, as I mounted the Rockies, it started hesitating. Nothing drastic but you could see the mileage consumption gauge fluctuating rapidly when the hesitation was felt. I took it to a dealer in Denver and they said it was just an adjustment for altitude which they claim to have performed. This was at 12,000 miles.
Made no difference and I experienced it en route to Oklahoma on level roads. Three months later after having traveled throughout the West and continuously experiencing the same problem, I took it to a dealer in San Diego. I told them the story and was told, first of all, there is no such thing as an "altitude adjustment" and that they could not duplicate the problem because a.) they are not allowed to drive that fast and b.) they are at sea level. No history of the problem and no diagnosis or solution.
A month later I took it to a dealer in Scottsdale, AZ at 14,774 miles. Same complaint, same answers. Ditto in San Diego at 21,304 miles and again at 26,255. Next was back to the Denver dealer at 31,938, again in Scottsdale at 34,199. I have now had the car for 19 months, have 65,000 miles on it and have, as you can see, not been able to get any satisfaction after numerous trips to various dealerships. Although it doesn't seem to be a severe problem, my fear is that it is indicative of something serious that will leave me stranded in the desert someday.
