My husband and I was in an accident and the airbag light was on but never deployed, I heard about the recall for the takata airbags from a friend. I was never notified by Toyota about the recall. When I put in the VIN # of our car both airbags are on the list. I don't know if it would of went off that I wouldn't got hurt but it didn't and I was injured anyway.

Takata recall I received a notice in the beginning of June saying that their is a problem with the air bag and to not have anyone sit in the passenger side. The notice said that they will send more information once the part is ready. For the last 6 months I have been trying to use my car less, but there are times when as a family of four, we have no choice but to have someone sitting in the passenger side. Finally here we are in January and I contacted a dealer asking what is the status of the recall and when I can expect it to be fixed. I was told by the dealer, they have no idea what Toyota is going to be doing about this recall. I asked what am I suppose to do in the meantime" I was told I could rent a car! really?! and who would pay for that? me of course. I'm so disappointed in Toyota they I have had 6 recalls on my car, and they have taken care of it in a timely manner, but this one that can cause an airbag to be deadly, they are taking their time. How long am I suppose to wait? this is terrible, and shows Toyota doesn't care about the well being of their customers. When will Toyota be forced to handle this"

Takata recall- it is unacceptable that I have not been able to get my airbag replaced in the 9 months since my vehicle was included in this recall. I have avoided having any passengers in my car, basically only risking my own safety rather than my loved ones. I should be able to drive the car I spent a lot of money on without worrying about my safety! I thought I was included in the "top priority" set of vehicles to be fixed, but I am still being told there is no remedy available. What is the process to get this fixed asap. I want to be able to safely drive the car I paid good money for.
