My Husband talked me into buying the Highlander because he loves his Tacoma. He said Toyotas were reliable and make good products. I read customers complaints about the same issues I'm having and they aren't doing anything about it. My last vehicle was a 2006 Xterra, we had to replace the timing chain tensioners for $3000. That was an Xterra issue across the board and Nissan didn't pay us a dime.
If this car dies on me while in traffic it could possibly go fatally wrong. I just bought this car in March, if I have to throw $$$ at it, I'm going to be freaking furious.

Toyota notified me in January that there was a recall but they don't have the item to fix it yet. It's now six months with this problem. There's still no fix. Do not buy a Toyota Highlander.
