Highlander XLE V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 900 miles

I was shocked to be sitting at a light and all of a sudden the car dies on me. I sat there in shock and then it started up again. I think this may have to do with a transmission problem as well, because when I stop at a light and give it gas, it doesn’t catch right away until I REALLY give it gas. It’s too unpredictable and it has me worried that I may have an accident since the damned thing stops and goes when it wants. I told the dealership about it and the manager of the service department told me that it has the state of the art transmission and I just have to get used to it. It’s scary when I’m behind someone at a light and the car wants to take off. My 2015 ran better, but I see a lot of complaints for that year. Isn’t Toyota supposed to be one of the best, because that’s why I bought it? If I get into an accident because of this problem, then Toyota will have a new lawsuit to contend with.

To be honest, since I’m not a mechanic, I’m not sure if it’s the fuel pump or the transmission. I didn’t know which one to choose.
