TL the contact owns a 2019 Toyota Highlander equipped with Bridgestone tires, tire line: Dueler H/L 422 ecopia, tire size: P245/60/R18 tires, dot number (not provided). The contact stated that the treadwear on the original tires were wearing at an alarming rate. The contact stated that while driving on wet surfaces, the tires performed like driving on ice. The vehicle was taken to a tire dealer who inspected the treadwear and quoted the treadwear at 7/32nds when they should be replaced at 4/32nds. The contact called the tire manufacturer and was informed that warranty coverage for the tires were not covered by the tire manufacturer. The contact was informed that the warranty only covered tire defects. The vehicle was taken to a Bridgestone tire shop and it was stated that the tires needed to be replaced. The contact placed a second call to the manufacturer and informed the representative what the Bridgestone tire shop stated. The tire manufacturer refused to provide assistance because the tires were the original equipment. The vehicle manufacturer referred the contact to the dealer. The dealer stated that there was nothing wrong with the tires. The tires were not replaced. The failure mileage was 9,000.
