Dim lights housing burned out. Diagnosed by local mechanic and confirmed by Cadillac dealership in Smyrna, Ga. Service dept. says all SRX are having this problem, but he also stated that the recall was already done. The actual recall I received was about condensation in the lights which does not seem to be a problem for my vehicle, so if people are taking their vehicles in and being told the recall is already done, then they are probably not reporting the problem. This affects the safety of myself and others as I am unable to see well in dimly lit areas and I have to use my bright lights to avoid having an accident. There is no warning indicator for this. I can just tell that the lights are not working properly. Also the electronic touch screen that controls the radio and heating is not working properly. I cannot redirect the heat, so it only blows out of defrost vents. It-€™s very cold in the back for my 4 year old. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request and once I get the mechanic to look at it again, I can provide a picture of the burned out housing unit.

you can not see the highway at night.one has to slow down or stop to see.the only way to see is with the high beams on, which is unsafe for other drivers coming toward you.on other ocassions, i simply had to pull over to the side of the road.

Headlights are so dim I have to use highbeams to see properly so both the dim lighting and having to use highbeams is very dangerous. This is a ongoing problem I have had since I bought the vehicle new - seems to be getting worse and I find that I try not to drive at night because of it. I believe a recall by GM should be immediately initiated.

The Headlights for my car - Cadillac 2014 SRX At night the headlights are not bright enough to see and driving is dangerous. The car is available for inspection upon request. I was driving at night making a turn and I hit a small sign post on a back road because I could not see it! I put others at risk driving with my high beams on blinding the oncoming cars. If people are walking on the road I can not see them and therefore put them at risk. Additionally I put myself and my family at risk. I am a first responder working in a Doctor's office after dark and have to drive home on back roads that are very dark and not lit with street lights. The dealer at Ingersoll Auto of Danbury CT confirmed the headlights do not work properly and are not bright enough to see at night. They said they are defective. When I purchased the car and could not see at night driving I contacted my dealership. They said the problem has been a recall in Florida. I contacted Cadillac who said they sent me a letter and I should have them fixed.

Even after replacing bulbs in the headlights with the brightest bulbs available for the car, the headlights are too dim to see the road or anything while driving at night. This creates a safety hazard for the drivers and passengers in the car and other drivers on the road. Even the lines on roads are not clearly visible unless they are freshly painted. GM refuses to fix the problem and the replacement lenses do the same thing when paid to be replaced by the car owner.

PROBLEM: LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON 2014 CADILLAC SRX: With age, the low beam headlights become too dim to drive at night even though there is nothing wrong with the actual headlight bulb. The problem is related to the materials and design of the Cadillac SRX headlight assemblies. The reflector of the low beam headlight is made of plastic with a chrome coating. The heat of the OEM bulb deteriorates the chrome coating on the reflector until it appears as the dull white color of the plastic base material. Without the chrome coating the low beam headlights are very dim. Replacing the headlight bulb will not remedy the situation. The only fix is to replace the entire headlight assembly and this is usually done at a dealership because the whole front grill/bumper must be removed). During 2019 and 2020 Cadillac had a reimbursement program for people that complained or owners that received letters about the program which was handled by a 3rd party. There had been complaints to Cadillac about these low output headlights but they kept this problem out of the public realm by quietly settling with those customers. The estimate I received today from Everett Chevrolet-Cadillac in Hickory NC was $1900 to replace both headlight assemblies with factory original parts. I spoke to Cadillac customer care today and they said they may possibly assist in the replacement but I would have to submit a written estimate to them for review. If Cadillac is not responsible for this problem then why have they paid for replacements in the past and why will they consider paying for them now on a case by case basis? These aging Cadillac SRX models are not safe to be on the roads with these dim low beam headlights. Owners either have to be very careful or use their high beam headlights in night time traffic.

The low beams are so dim, the vehicle cannot be driven at night. Even after replacing both bulbs there was no change. Vehicle can only be driven with high beams on. The dealer knows of the issue and said replacement would be the same system with the same problem. GMC offered a partial reimbursement, but has not corrected the defective system. If their offer was accepted, you would have to sign an agreement not to do anything legal regarding the issue in the future.

I recently purchased this vehicle and have discovered that you cannot see the road at night with dim beam, the cause is the reflector compartment on the light modules burns up from the heat generated by the light and takes away the reflector capabilities that give out light to the road. I am forced to currently drive with main beam everywhere which is a big safety issue. I investigated to see if tis is just my car and have found on You Tube that it is a major issue with is car model. I am told that if I take the car in and pay to have it fixed that GM will reimburse in their own time. This is not acceptable, it should have been addressed by your department years ago and it is not on the recall list why? No accidents for us yet but we cannot drive the car after dark unless very important reason then full beam and my wife will not drive it at all at night! I will wait to hear back from you before I pursue this further but time is of the essence here so please respond soon. Thank You. The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while driving at an undetermined speed in inclement weather, the headlights failed to produce adequate lighting for safe driving. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact replaced the headlight housing. The contact called the local dealer, but vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 20,000.

Headlights are dim on low beam. After multiple reports/complaints by owners no recall was issued. It is a safety issue.GM offered to reimburse up to $1600. My dealer wanted $2502.40 plus tax to replace the lights. $1000 over the reimbursement cost which made a total of almost $3000 I had to put out then wait to get back $1600. I have not replaced the lights. This is a product safety issue that is GM's problem not mine. Why no recall?

The low beam headlights are so dim that I cannot see without high beams on. I almost crashed on a winding road when switching to low beams because of on coming traffic. I bought new bulbs and still no good. Did not drive at night for 6 months before purchasing fog lights to assist low beams. GM should have a recall before someone else looses their life like the reported law suite in Florida.

When driving at night, I can't see unless I use my high beams, on low beams I cannot see the roadway. I have contacted the dealership and they say they are aware of the problem, but there is no recall. So I would have to pay for this issue repair and hope that General Motors would have to reimburse me for the repair, I can't imagine a more important safety issue than not being able to see at night on the highway.

This is the second time I've issued this form. The headlamps on my 2014 Cadillac Srx (and about 300,000 others) setting is such that the headlamps' low beams do not illuminate the roadway due to faulty engineering or manufacturing and should undergo a recall service by Cadillac.
