Very unsafe conditions. What a poor product. Evidently this is notorious for the 03 Chevy Cavalier. Thanks GM. Where is the recall?

Our daughter was driving our car when the motor suddenly died. She was lucky to be able to get off the highway safely. I had our repair shop tow the car for repair. Bill: $706. Part: Fuel pump/unit. It is a good thing that she was not on the interstate. These fuel pumps are defective and represent a danger to the occupants of these cars. GM needs to be made to initiate a recall!

Fuel pump appears to be a problem with everyone I have talked to on 2003 Chevrolet Cavaliers before 100,000. I have a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier now and wondered if a recall on this can be enforced. This is a very common problem with this car and year. NHTSA is loaded with complaints regarding this, but no recall enforced yet. Can this be done? thank you.

It would not start again. Luckily there was no one behind me so I was able to get out of my car and push it back to the street that I was turning from. The car would not turn over. A tow truck was called to take my car to the repair shop. After paying $570 and only 50,000 miles I had a new fuel pump put in the car.
