Now at 22000 miles along with it shifting hard out of 1st gear, it now is shuddering when driving at different speeds. I bought a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500hd used and every since I've had it, it has a vibration at highway speeds. I've had it back to chenoweth Ford where I bought it twice now and they sent me to harry green Chevrolet dealer and no one has a clue what is causing it. I have been researching this year, make and model vehicle and have found alot of people with this same issue that they are calling the "Chevy shake" which appears to have been going on since 2014 through 2020. I even found a class action lawsuit on this issue. The truck has 36,000 miles on it and I would say this is the reason the previous owner traded it off. I was given a rental car once when I took it in for repair because they had it until the next day. Which when I picked it up they said that the vibration was 90 percent gone but they couldn't get it to go away completely and that they had 3 different mechanics working on it.

8 speed transmission. There are times slips between gears or surges ahead when it shifts up. Notified dealer 4 times but they say its normal that it is just how the 8speed transmission acts; it is not normal. When it slips there is concern of not getting out of the way of oncoming traffic. When it surges forward it throws my head against head rest.

I was driving up a hill at approx. 5 miles an hour, with coworker in vehicle. The transmission could not find a gear and the vehicle lost momentum and rolled backwards down the hill. I had to slam on my breaks before I hit another vehicle. We were at kaiser hospital assisting with the cooling towers of the hospital. I had to turn the vehicle off and then on, and slow make my way to the parking area. My coworker was extremely worried and felt the vehicle was unsafe, as did I. this problem has happened several times.

The contact stated that while driving at 20 mph, the rear tires and brakes seized with a message not to exceeded 60 mph was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was driven to palm Chevrolet (2300 sw college rd, ocala, fl 34471 (352) 433-4105) to be diagnosed however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure or retrieve a fault code. Sometimes so violent when I try to accelerate from a stop the rpms rise..truck doesn't move right away..then its like something engages and it goes..making hard clunking noise..today my back tires actually peeled out and the rear end was hopping when it engaged.the issue is only when taking off..especially when first started up..yes I let it idle down 1st..and when stopping it is a shuddering/jerking stop..sometimes it feels like ive been hit.when these events take place I have no control of truck as it is lurching forward in fast jerky manner.

Had my truck parked for 5 hours at my grandparents went to leave and had no power steering and the service power steering message came on the dash when I started it in the driveway. I checked the power steering fluid and it was full. So I turned the truck off and let it sit for a few minutes and started it back up again and power steering was still out. I turned the truck off again and let it sit for a few minutes started it back up and the power steering was still out but I was able to steer easier than before so I drove home. Also at the same time the service ESC message came on along with the light on the dash. The second time restarting the truck the service ESC message and light went away. The recall that was to fix this issue had already been completed on my truck. I have been having transmission issues as well where the truck will jerk into second gear and when slowing down from 2nd to first it will jerk again. Took it to the dealership and they said there was no bulletins on this and nothing they can do. I asked the service guy then why does the transmission shift rough if there is nothing wrong? I quote "the new transmissions in these trucks are supposed to shift that way".

Silverado 1500

  • 7,500 miles
Vehicle is producing a hard shift between 1st & 2nd gear primarily on cold starts. More recently is has been doing more through out the day but not as serve. This started around 7500 miles, currently at 23,000+. the vehicle has now been to three dealers (6+ attempts) with no resolution. One dealer took the valve body off for inspection and cleaning. Other dealers have tried reprogramming. Last attempt at repair was the week 8/25/2020 with no resolution as they could not duplicate the issue (had the vehicle for a week). The next day I experienced the harsh shift twice in one day. I also experience transmission slippage at constant speeds between 45 & 60mph. A bulletin came out from GM the week of 8/25/2020 indicating note to repair/replace the transmission as this is normal. How is this normal when it shift so hard it through the occupants forward and rearward in the seat. How is this safe for a young child/toddler? this has the potential to cause whiplash in younger children. I have in firm believe this is a cause for my neck and shoulder pain. As an added note: I have been working with the GM executive resolution team on this issue and again no resolution. I am also experiencing an issue with the parking brake coming on by itself when the vehicle is completely off and the key out of the vehicle. Again dealers cannot duplicate even though one service rep witnessed it while dropping the vehicle off for service. This is a safety issue for anyone performing brake service as the brake could activate and cause a pinch point. Overall I have several other electrical issues regarding radio, dic display & cruise control. Only the dic display has been corrected. I also have had leaking rear slider and squeaks in the front left dash, right front floorboard and upper LH B-pillar. I also had the left dash panel replaced due to a broken tab. Video upon request

Purchased vehicle last October. Mileage indicates 8857 miles, and brake indication says 97% brake life left. It was less than that a few months after owning it, then went to 97% and has stayed there. Dealer says brake pads a fine. Yes, no doubt but there is no way 97% can be left. Transmission at times harmers into gear when shifting from first to second gear. Document id 4605342 states first shift of the day maybe harsh. It's not just the first shift of the day that it happens. There are times shifting between first and second gear the vehicle briefly slows then hammers into second gear that jolts you in your seat, enough you shake in your seat. The most recent time it happened I was moving in a paved parking lot.

The power train delays shifting from 1st to 2nd gear resulting in hesitation in forward movement or a very hard, abrupt lurching forward shift. This happen on the first drive of the day and then intermittently throughout the day. Both types of shifts create unsafe conditions. It seems the engine power is linked to the the shifting issue and either not enough or too much power is applied at the shift point.

In one instance the power train was confused and could not decide whether to be in 1st, 2nd or 3rd gear and shifted up and down while I was attempting to navigate congested city traffic at slow speed. GM service bulletin 20-na-102 and 16-na-361 suggest that the power train behavior is normal. When I returned the vehicle for service, this was the diagnosis. Discussion with the service advisor indicated that in some instances other actions are taken to address the situation, but it is never eliminated. Now customer satisfaction program N192272400 has been issued due to a faulty tcm which causes the wheels to lock up. This should be an urgent recall. These combined conditions create an unsafe vehicle that needs to be addressed and corrected.
