Upon starting my truck, the oil pressure gauge immediately goes to 80 with no acceleration. At this point, there is no noise or other lights coming on to warn of other problems. This problem started a few days ago. When truck is in motion the oil pressure gauge continues to stay on 80. I know the 2006 Chevy 2500 heavy duty 4X4 have had recalls on different things, but need to see if this is a problem for other Chevy trucks as well. I have read several recalls about these trucks and a lot of them we have never been notified to take it to a dealer to be checked. Any help you can give us would be deeply appreciated.

Blower motor for the HVAC started all by its self and ran full blast. The control panel had no effect on the system. I could not control or shut off the blower. Even when the truck was parked, in park and shut down and the keys removed the blower continued to run at full blast. Had to disconnect the battery. Later after having to drive the truck to work I followed the fuse schematic and removed the green I believe fuse breaker from the under hood fuse box. I have left this fuse removed so the battery doesn't run down.

At approximately 2:30 am, November 10th, my husband had just gotten back from the store, and had turned the truck off. The keys were not in the ignition at the time. He was sitting in the truck for about 10 minutes, when he noticed smoke coming from the dashboard. He opened the hood, noticed flames, and tried to put it out with a fire extinguisher. We called the fire department, but by the time they got to the house, the entire cab of the truck was engulfed in flames. The heat was so intense it melted the siding off my house. The truck was used for his business, and he had two chainsaws in the back that were destroyed. There is absolutely nothing left.

Service brakelines rotted and caused a complete loss of service brakes - while driving and close to home - used emergency brakes and low gear to get to home. Spoke to friend at Chevy dealer. They are having problems with this truck series due to corrosion and premature rusting. Truck is currently in garage due to failure (corrosion) of transmission cooling lines. Current mileage 15,211. Lost both anti-lock brake modules and alternator and temperature sensors.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated the air conditioner blower resistor and wiring harness would need to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Was driving my 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500hd and turned on the air conditioner. I began to smell an odor similar to trash burning. I turned off the ac and turned on just the air fan at which time the truck cab filled with smoke. I was able to pull off the side of the road and contacted the fire department. The fan continued to fill the cab with smoke even though the ignition was off and the keys were removed. The incident did not stop until the fd disconnected the batteries from the truck. The vehicle was towed to a Chevrolet dealer and the problem was diagnosed as a short in air conditioner blower wiring harness which resulted in damage to the relay, they checked with the manufacturer to authorize repair under an extended warranty and told me it is not covered as it is an electrical malfunction.

2006 chev HD2500 blower motor quit working. Tested and found blower motor control module electrical terminal melted along with pigtail connector. We were told by Chevrolet dealership this is a common problem. Replaced control module along with pigtail. Dealership has these parts in stock. May possibly be a fire hazard.
