At least 6 times in the past 8 months the vehicle has failed to start. It behaves as if both batteries are dead. After using a trickle charger I can get the car to start. It's been returned to the dealer numerous times. Each time they report that they charged the batteries and everything is fine and Chrysler will not let them replace either battery since "no error code is reported". supposedly they checked the charging system as well as looked for a parasitic draw and found nothing. We are afraid to use the vehicle lest we get stuck far from home. In desperation I replaced the main battery at my expense. In all cases the problem occurred when the vehicle was parked in our drive. Some cases overnight and others after returning from an errand run.

I have taken this vehicle in for repairs multiple times and it is schedule for repairs again this week. There have been multiple electrical issues including problems with the sliding doors, anti lock brake system had to be replaced, the battery system is grounding out, issues with the radio screen, and now the auto on off system is not working. In addition, I had to take the vehicle in for the ball joints bolts coming loose three time and they just used loctite to make them say on. They never realigned the vehicle and now I have to replace tires that are unsafe. Chrysler should own this and I am still convinced the ball joints could be damaged from this issue and they should replace them. However, the biggest issue is the transmission. It will be going in for the fifth time this week for the same issue that the dealer keep claiming is how I drive it. When taking off from a dead stop the transmission hesitates, which is a serious safety issue. Also, when driving and you let off the accelerator to brake it will hammer real hard. This a serious safety issue and Chrysler and the dealer refuse to own it. I filed my second complaint with Chrysler last week. This all needs to be resolved so I have a safe vehicle for my family. I feel they are stalling so my warranty will run out and I have no recourse.

The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 18V049000(electrical system, engine and engine cooling), 18V395000(electrical system, equipment), and 18V332000 (electrical system, vehicle speed control). The parts to do the repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs as the recall notice was received over a year ago. Ray brandt Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat (1660 westbank expy, harvey, la 70058, (504) 334-8908) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available. The dealer diagnosed that the battery failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted several times and was unable to confirm when the parts were to become available. While driving various speeds, the check engine and brake warning indicators illuminated. Also, the vehicle lost power once the contact released the brake pedal. The contact would have to turn the vehicle off and back on in order for the vehicle to resume normal operation. An independent mechanic performed a second diagnostic test, but found no failure. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Electrical system began acting erratic. When parked, the car would not initially "push to start" and when it did start it displayed errors to "service shifter, " "service parking brake, " "parking break unavailable." On the drive, while in motion, the air conditioning began to increase and decrease in power/speed without driver input. The vehicle then turned off on the highway. After restarting and making it home the car had difficulty turning on again. The sliding doors and lift gate were also said to be "unavailable."

We have had a few continuing problems since the original purchase of a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica braunability van. The car has had electrical issues and on 3 or 4 occasions has suddenly shut off or stopped working. One time may have been related to a car accident my husband was in. He collided with another car in 2018, immediately after the accident the car was not running, but he hadn't turned it off. It started back up again but this happened 2 or 3 times this year with different electrical features not working making the car inoperable at times. In addition, the air conditioning system has continuously been dysfunctional. We have had it to the dealership a few times for this problem. Most recently it was fixed a couple months ago and it is again not working.

When closing the driver side sliding door, it bounces back open one to multiple times before latching shut 90% of the time. We confirm there is nothing in the way of it closing. We have taken it to the dealership under warranty multiple times and they always state it cannot be replicated. Also, on the passenger side sliding door if something gets in the way it will only open a small portion versus opening all the way up or shutting completely. If a child puts their foot up, the door will stop without opening back up. There is no alert/warning on the dashboard and you easily drive away with the sliding door partially open, very dangerous. Another item, if you leave a back door open, the van will allow you to put it in gear without manually taking off the parking assist or again notifying you there is an open door. It will not do you any good to send pictures but I can certainly send a video. This is been ongoing since April 2018 when we purchased the vehicle initially.

First, the two batteries in the vehicles are failing prematurely. Ours just failed about a week after the start/stop system light activated on dash. Our van was parked for 7 days at an airport and upon returning from vacation the batteries were dead and unable to be recharged. Ironically, my sister-in law in California whom we were visiting, had the exact same problem with theirs while we were there. Again, a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. My research shows this is a reoccurring issue all across the country according to google research and carcomplaints.com. Some people are having their van die or stall while in motion. Second, there is a problem with the paint bubbling up around the hood edges. Again, my research on google and carcomplaints.com reveals many are suffering this bubbling paint issue. Last, the transmission has an extremely hard shift intermittently between 10 to 15 mph. So hard in fact, it feels as if you have been rear ended. Again, research on google and carcomplaints, com and Pacifica forums, indicate this is not an isolated issue. Many are experiencing this issue.

I have had multiple electrical problems with my 2017 Pacifica that began roughly one year into my 39 month lease (currently 22 months in). The auto start/stop indicator and a message saying the hood is open when it's not repeatedly shows on the dash when driving and when stationary. These issues were supposedly "fixed" twice now with a third appointment in a few weeks (takes forever to get in to the dealer and I'm fed up with having to rent a vehicle while the dealer "fixes" the problem). Also, the car has stalled at least 10 times in the past year, most recently yesterday, which requires me to shift to park and restart the vehicle. This too was supposedly "fixed" each time the dealer had it in the service dept. I was very lucky that the car was sitting idle at a red light or stop sign during each of these occurrences. I would hate to think of what could happen if I was driving at any rate of speed and the vehicle stalled. Additionally, the battery indicator has come on twice now in the past two days, which suggests the battery isn't charging right. However, I checked the battery via the vehicle information section on the dash and the battery is running appropriately. I will continue to monitor that as well and have the dealer check it at the appointment in a few weeks. With all of that being said, these problems should not be occurring in a vehicle that is not even two years old! these are safety concerns that have the potential to cause serious harm to the driver/passenger of the Pacifica as well as innocent bystanders. It is noteworthy that I currently have 21K miles on the vehicle. These issues began around the 12K mile mark.

Our Pacifica was stopped at a stoplight. When the light turned green, the parking brake engaged and a message came up that said to service the shifter. We were able to turn off the engine and restart it, but we were not able to get the Pacifica to shift to drive or to get the parking brake to disengage. Sheriff's deputies who came and remained on scene with us who are familiar with Chrysler cars were also not able to get our Pacifica to move. Thankfully this incident happened in a situation that was not terribly busy. I am concerned that this would have been extremely dangerous if it had occurred on a busy road. The document from the repair cites tsb 18-002-19. The work that was done was to replace the shifter. Our van only had 41962 miles on it at the time of the incident. If this is a common issue, some work should be done to set up some sort of recall that would make this less of a safety issue. As a result of this incident and a similar incident due to a hood latch sensor failure we no longer felt safe in this vehicle. Once the repair was complete, we traded in the van to buy something we feel much more safe in.

Currently have 53,078 miles on this van. It is serviced regularly by the same dealership we bought it from. Today as I was picking up my kids from school( speed limit is 15 mph) van suddenly lost power, it made beeping noise, and dash said to shift to park. I shifted to park and shut it down then restarted. It is driving normal again but I'm still taking it into dealership because ever since it had a software update last year, I have had issues with transmission slipping as I drive on highway. It slows down by itself and jerks van roughly as it automatically shifts to next gear. Also the trunk stopped making beeping sound when it opens.

The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. While the vehicle was stopped on an incline, the engine shut off. As the contact attempted to release the brake pedal, the vehicle rolled backwards without warning. The contact also stated that the vehicle shut off in the middle of traffic. The vehicle was taken to Chrysler Jeep Dodge city of mckinney (972-569-9650, located at 700 S central expy, mckinney, tx 75070) where no failures were found with the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000. The VIN was not provided. Consumer stated eliminating the standard spare tire to reduce weight in the vehicle has caused a safety issue as most tire problems cannot simply be fixed on the side of the road with a patch kit. Auto on/off system. Tire patch kit provided with vehicle instead of spare tire during emergencies/tire blow out/ flat, exceeding difficult to use especially for a family vehicle. Kit only works when damage to tire is in a specific place and accessible.
