When braking with left foot to slow down or stop... if right foot is on accelerator the car loses power (engine keeps running though) and cannot accelerate and must stop engine and restart to regain control. Relative had same problem with his 2017 Pacifica and was told that there is no fix for this problem. Chrysler hasn't been able to fix mine either. Chrysler closed my case basically saying take it in to be repaired...there is no fix. Happening when car new to present.

This is the second complaint I have filed in 24 hours. I believe I am having a known problem/recall in my vehicle: Engine stall due to software issue an engine stall can increase the risk of a crash. NHTSA campaign number: 18V049000 I drove about 3 miles. Parked my vehicle and pushed the button to open the sliding back door. When I pushed the button the entire vehicle turned off including the engine and all the lights. Nothing on the dash remained lit. I tried to restart it and nothing happened. No sounds, click or lights appeared. I opened my door and waited about a minute then the interior lights turned on. The sliding back door had to be manually pulled shut at this point. I tried to start the vehicle again and nothing happened. I tried again and it hesitated, then started. I was able to drive about 10 miles to work after that.

I believe my vehicle is have the issue of a known recall on this type of vehicle: Engine stall or loss of power steering assist a loss of power steering assist or a stall can increase the risk of crash. I was driving and suddenly the power steering went out and the vehicle came to a stop. I was instructed on the screen to put the vehicle in park. Once I put it in park the vehicle shut off. I tried restarting it. The brake was stiff and would not push in. When I pushed the button it went to "acc" then when I pushed it again it went to "run" but the vehicle was not on and I could not change the shifter out of the park position. This was very dangerous and happened while vehicles were driving behind me causing people to suddenly come to a stop.

The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds the vehicle experienced unintended vehicle acceleration. Additionally, while accelerating from a stop, the emergency parking brake independently activated which caused the vehicle to come to an abrupt stop. Additionally, while at a stop light, the economy fuel feature malfunctioned which the engine to not automatically restart when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle also had experienced electrical malfunctions which caused failures to the wind shield wipers and the door would not lock. The vehicle was taken to the local dealers cherry hill Chrysler (1708 West NJ ave cherry hill NY.) and rockwall Chrysler (970 East interstate 30, rockwell tx) where software updates were performed however, the failures recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and the contact received case numbers: [xxx], [xxx], and [xxx]. the failure mileage was 10,000. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

We have had to replace all spark plugs and all ignition coils as because the vehicle just breaks downs suddenly cause lights to come on and be flashing while shaking very violently and not shifting correctly. This is usually following the issues we have with the transmission stalling and hard shifting forward more often than usual. It is underivable in this condition and requires a tow to the shop. We are told this is normal maintenance but starting at 6,000 miles hardly seems normal. Spark plugs shouldn't even need replaced until at least 100,000 miles let alone any sort of coil.

Transmission issues are out of control!!! vehicle looses power at low speed then lurches into gear thrusting forward at an alarming rate. This has put us in danger several times. Chrysler fails to acknowledge the issue saying they can't recreate the event. On christmas eve the transmission gave out completely going through a light on the highway and lights came on and were flashing. Towed it to the shop where they told us it needed 'reflashed' basically recalibrated and that every Pacifica would need this update in order to continue driving. They also charged us $150 to do this mandatory update. Sounds as if that should be considered a recall. I'm not happy to announce the vehicle is back to the same issues and I know it's only a matter of time before it happens again. We have also have to replace all spark plugs and all ignition coils as because the vehicle just breaks downs suddenly cause lights to come in and be flashing while shaking and not shifting correctly. It seems related to the transmission issues but we will never truly know as we are lied to so often when it's in the shop. Chrysler cares is no help at all!

While driving, vehicle completely lost power/stalled. Power steering lost, all acceleration and power assisted braking. Indicator lights for variety of systems light up. Pull over to side and restart vehicle. Vehicle exhibits "haywire" behavior, with indicators for all systems, including traction control tire pressure, battery, hybrid electric system, parking brake, etc.going off. A short video was taken of this behavior when restart was attempted after the stall. Vehicile fails to restart. After additional try, vehicle starts, and traction control and some other systems remain non functional. Vehicle is returned home, then returned to dealer, who advises that vehicle firmware is up to date, and that the issue "cannot be duplicated." Vehicle was up to date on previous recalls relating to stalls. The stall was incredibly dangerous, and dealer does not seem to have any idea what source of the problem is. We have been sent away, being told to return the vehicle if problem shows up again. We do not feel that vehicle is safe to drive, and dealer has done nothing to address or diagnose the issue that caused the problem. The issue came after some other issues with vehicle sometimes indicating that airbags need service, or not recognizing that seatbelts were buckled. I believe the issue to be related to problems with computer firmware governing the vehicle.

There has been more than one occasion where my car would shift from drive to neutral or even stalls completely. There have been times where decelerates on its on and when it locks up from the parking gear while trying to shift to drive. Most recent occurrance of this was Sunday, December 22, 2019. Acceleration from a stopped position always feels like I was rear-ended everytime. I have had multiple safety recalls and the 2 times I took it back to the dealer for fixing, I reported this concern. Dealership reported finding no issue as reported. I have received of yet another recall in 2018 but have not had a chance to take it in. I fear for the safety of my children and I as this is the only vehicle I have. But these defects that dealership reports as "finding no issue" is not fair. Its a death trap. These stops, stalls, deceleration and accelerations that started in 2017 and continues thru today is presenting a severe danger hazard and I need help.

Hesitation when I turn and try to accelerate. I thought it was my gas but I'm seeing there was a recall on some 2017 for this problem. Mine has done this several times when I turn. It has only happened on the city streets while in motion. Almost like it wants to stall out then a small few small jerks and then takes off. I just bought this van in March 2019 from westgate jeff wyler. There was no recalls for this van but I'm having the same problem they recalled on other 2017 Pacifica. It's done this several times

We are on our second Pacifica after the first was bought back by Chrysler due to major electrical issues (vehicle would not start or function correctly, dealer couldn't fix it). Now on our second Pacifica we have had constant transmission issues...first transmission started slamming into gear (feels like you are being rear ended by another vehicle, this can be at slower speeds < 20 mph while going straight or turning), they reset computer, that didn't fix it, so then they replaced the valve body in the transmission (2 seperate shop trips). A couple months later it started slamming into gear again (slow speeds < 20, turning and going straight), so they replaced the transmission after putting us in a rental for another month, about 6 months later this transmission had the same exact issue, slamming into gear at low speeds (< 20, turning or going straight). So we are on our 2nd Pacifica and the 3rd transmission now and are still having the same issue as we initially had (slamming into gear like you are being rear ended at slow speeds < 20 going straight or turning)! there are serious issues with this transmission that Chrysler needs to resolve! this is not safe to drive the way it is, because you don't know the situation you will be driving in when it happens.

Had auxiliary battery replaced approximately 5 months ago because the ess was not functionally properly. No problems until today 11/9/19 while on vacation in Washington DC. The engine shutoff totally at stop light. Put car in park, depressed brake, vehicle started and ess warning light stayed on and no other lights came on, pulled out of traffic into parking lot and vehicle was slow to accelerate at first, turned vehicle off myself, let it sit a minute. Restarted vehicle with no problems and ess light was off. Called dealership where I purchased vehicle and Chrysler customer service about what happened. Neither on had any ideas or suggestions except to take to dealership. Dealership did say might be oil change was due or oil was low. Had oil changed about month ago. Said they had not received any complaints about this 11issue.

While driving my 4 year old son the other day the vehicle just shut off and it flashed "turn to P (park) to start engine"- this freaked my entire family out. I do not feel comfortable driving this vehicle anymore.I am up to date on all my maintenance and recalls. I have also been experiencing a "bucking" when you turn the vehicle and accelerate. It is as if the transmission is slipping. I am so frustrated and feel like I wasted $36K of my hard earned money.

The vehicle will stall and then hard shift from first to second gear. We initially noticed the hard shifting when we bought the vehicle but thought it might be the auto stop/start system. We didn't think much of it until it started shifting harder when we would stop or be driving. This, at times, caused issues when turning or accelerating to go through an intersection. The vehicle stalling causes a safety hazard and presents an opportunity for an accident to occur due to the delayed response of the vehicle. The cars following behind could potentially rear end the vehicle. The hard-shifting feels like someone hit you from behind and causes back and neck pain from the sudden jerking movement. This vehicle has also completely stopped when being driven causing a serious safety hazard. It started up again immediately after that incident only to not start at all a few months later. This vehicle has been nothing but trouble for us from the very beginning. We stayed optimistic that the recalls would fix the issues. They haven't. it's only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured or heaven forbid dies because of this issue. We have had 8+ service visits for this van. At one time it was completely inoperable and had to be towed to the service department. We are frustrated with Chrysler and the service department at ancira Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge in san antonio, tx.
