My 2017 Pacifica touring plus van shut off three times. After the first shut off I took it to dealer for this issue, but they could not able to recreate the "shut off", they said they fixed something for not to shut off, but recently on 7/29/19 and 7/31/19 it was again asked to move shift to P and shut off, even I tried to restart the engine, it didn't after 3 to 4 times try it was started again. I was middle of the road with speed limit 40mph, lucky none of the vehicle was not close. I see many cases like this with 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, so I request Chrysler Pacifica to fix this issue asap by recalling the affected vehicles. It is always life threatening dangerous to the customer. Other than this issue (shut off) the vehicle is good.

The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 18V049000(electrical system, engine and engine cooling), 18V395000(electrical system, equipment), and 18V332000 (electrical system, vehicle speed control). The parts to do the repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs as the recall notice was received over a year ago. Ray brandt Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat (1660 westbank expy, harvey, la 70058, (504) 334-8908) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available. The dealer diagnosed that the battery failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted several times and was unable to confirm when the parts were to become available. While driving various speeds, the check engine and brake warning indicators illuminated. Also, the vehicle lost power once the contact released the brake pedal. The contact would have to turn the vehicle off and back on in order for the vehicle to resume normal operation. An independent mechanic performed a second diagnostic test, but found no failure. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Engine stalls after idling for long period of time. Spent several hours driving at neighborhood speeds to house hunt. This would include idling with air conditioner going for several minutes before moving again. While beginning to move after being at idle for several minutes the car stalled and would not restart. Shut off car for a minute completely and tried to restart. It would idle but would not respond to pushing on the accelerator. After two more minutes with all power off, the car restarted. We drove a mile and the car stalled again. Was able to pull off safely and wait again for a couple of minutes. Restarted and got about a mile again before stalling. Waited three minutes and restarted and got two miles before stalling again. Pulled off waited again, this time was able to drive home. Thank goodness the traffic lights were with us. This car went into the dealer for the same reason last year for the computer reset/reprogram recall. It has happened twice since then. This situation would be almost impossible for any dealer to replicate as it takes several hours of driving and idling to occur. I will mention that I live in phoenix, AZ and the temperature was apx. 110 degrees on the day of this occurrence on Saturday July 20, 2019. The car has less than 7000 miles and was purchased in November of 2017. This does not occur under similar driving conditions when the temperature is below 90 degrees. For more explanation when the stall is being to occur, the accelerator no longer responds to the push on the pedal. You will have several seconds to pull off the road before the call engine stalls out completely and you lose brakes and steering.

We have had a few continuing problems since the original purchase of a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica braunability van. The car has had electrical issues and on 3 or 4 occasions has suddenly shut off or stopped working. One time may have been related to a car accident my husband was in. He collided with another car in 2018, immediately after the accident the car was not running, but he hadn't turned it off. It started back up again but this happened 2 or 3 times this year with different electrical features not working making the car inoperable at times. In addition, the air conditioning system has continuously been dysfunctional. We have had it to the dealership a few times for this problem. Most recently it was fixed a couple months ago and it is again not working.

The vehicle has made transmission noises from 11K miles on. They immediately replaced the first transmission, then second one behaved the same. There is a clunking noise when you touch the gas. I filed complaint, took it back in numerous times, they claim "it just does that" now the vehicle is difficult to accelerate in dangerous situations, pushing down the gas, the car does not shift appropriately.

Leasing 2017 pacific touring L. ever since it passed 8K miles, jerking movements after coming to a stop, like some body hit you from behind. Took it East hills Chrysler and Jeep dealer in long island, NY twice. The first time they updated the software they said. 2nd time they couldn't duplicate the problem. Ofcourse cuz this jerking movement happens. Sometimes. In June 2019 this is happening a lot everyday with the NY city traffic on the highway. May 2019, van stalled while stopped at red light. Screen said 'shift to park to drive....' had to do shift and press the start button twice to get the control back of the vehicle. This time wife and 2 children with me. Of course ppl started honking and yelling cuz it's nyc. Also most of the time while fueling, the fuel pump stops. Really scared to drive this van anymore.

When driving and idling going anywhere from 14 to 18 mph. Then trying to accelerate, the car will pause and then a few seconds later accelerate hard with a large jerk almost causing whiplash. I have had it into the dealership for repair multiple times. They have had a new (used) transmission in and the problem persisted. Now we are being told we have to have a 3rd transmission and they want us to pay over $5100. We should not have to pay since the van has been in the shop multiple times for the problem.

The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. While the vehicle was stopped on an incline, the engine shut off. As the contact attempted to release the brake pedal, the vehicle rolled backwards without warning. The contact also stated that the vehicle shut off in the middle of traffic. The vehicle was taken to Chrysler Jeep Dodge city of mckinney (972-569-9650, located at 700 S central expy, mckinney, tx 75070) where no failures were found with the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000. The VIN was not provided. Consumer stated eliminating the standard spare tire to reduce weight in the vehicle has caused a safety issue as most tire problems cannot simply be fixed on the side of the road with a patch kit. Auto on/off system. Tire patch kit provided with vehicle instead of spare tire during emergencies/tire blow out/ flat, exceeding difficult to use especially for a family vehicle. Kit only works when damage to tire is in a specific place and accessible. The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. While making a turn at 35 mph, the vehicle shut off. The contact coasted the vehicle into a parking lot where it would not restart. After making arrangements to have the vehicle towed, the contact was able to restart the engine. A year later, while on a trip, the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed to moberly motor company (1520 N morley St, moberly, mo 65270, (660) 263-6000) where the failure was able to be duplicated. The contact called the manufacturer and was waiting to hear back regarding a possible diagnosis of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 19,500. The consumer stated there was a 2nd failure on 3/28/2019 and vehicle could not be repaired until the problem was duplicated. The dealer still has possession of the vehicle.

It started about a month or so after we bought the vehicle. When trying to accelerate after a complete stop the van feels like it's trying to stall then takes off so hard it feels like we've been rear-ended. We've taken the vehicle to the dealer many times & never got fixed. They kept pushing it off & even ignoring me. They finally gave me Chrysler customer care #a month ago so I called & got a case. Chrysler finally called me & said there is nothing they can do even though it's still under warranty. We looked up the lemon law & realized they ignored us because we were supposed to start a claim within 18 months of purchase which was last month.
