This is my second, possibly third time reporting a significant problem with this van. I have lost power while trying to accelerate multiple times. Today I lost power while accelerating, the vehicle revved and RPM went up to about 6000, no power was going to the engine and I was unable to accelerate, then full power went to engine and the van lunged forward and gained speed. The acc cruise control light also went on. I did not lose power steering and I am not sure if the engine turned off. Due to so many problems occurring while driving, I frequently record my drives- I was able to capture this on video. The video only shows my dash and does not do it justice, but shows the RPM, vehicle speed slowing, and then accelerating. I have a few more videos with similar problems, but this is one of the few that I was able to capture. My children are afraid of riding in this car, we have has issue after issue and simply want to be safe while driving.

While traveling at low speeds, especially when making turns/ coming out of parking lots, our Chrysler Pacifica will stall. It does a hard shift and jolts forward, as if a gear has slipped or we have been rear-ended. The first time we took it in for this issue was in September of 2017 when the car had about 32,000 miles. Numerous 'software updates' have been done and a valve throttle body was put on in June 2018 to try and resolve the issue after many former attempts. It worked for a couple months, but now we are experiencing the stall/ hard shift again. Chrysler's customer care has blantantly denied me the opportunity to speak to supervisors and points the finger at the dealership, while they point fingers ar Chrysler. The car is 2 years old and doesn't give me any hope of ever really being fixed. We have been meticulous about maintenance and have only taken it to certified Chrysler dealerships. Our first family car purchased together has been an experience we don't want others to go through. Chrysler is not taking responsibility for producing unsafe vehicles.

On multiple ocasions, the engine shutoff feature shut off just as I was trying to turn left on a busy street. This caused the vehicle to pull about ten feet into traffic and then it stalles for an unsafely long delay before the vehicle would get out of traffic. It is a problem when is decides to shut the engine off just as I decide to turn left. It causes the vehicle to stall and then lurch as it tried to come back on. I usually remember to shut this feature off but it always comes back on every time you restart the vehicle. Ken garf chystler dealership was unable to have this feature turned off by default. This is a dangerous engine shutoff feature intended to save some fuel. I don't care how much fuel it saves if it causes an accident! the ai for this needs refinement and it needs to be disabled when left turn signal is engaged so this doesn't happen.

The engine stalled while driving down the road at 10mph. Just out of blue the engine stopped and I get a move shifter to park and restart engine message on the screen. (that itself is dangerous to move the shifter to park in a moving car). This happened a few months ago at a red light and I had reported it. Clearly Chrysler hasn't fixed this issue and it's causing for very dangerous driving conditions. These people only started after the recall from Chrysler for a software update to fix this issue.

In Sept. 2018 I took my Pacifica in for cruise control recall and check engine light. Recall and check engine light repair completed. Next day check engine light came on again and has been on and off for the past few weeks. It seems to stay on about 4 days and then off for a day or two. Cruise control (in motion) goes out sporadically. Power window- drivers window- auto up does not work. Window(parked and moving) goes up half way, stops and goes back down. Transmission-not consistent issue but lurching @ 10-15mph also at 30mph

Driving at 70 mph, my Pacifica just shut off. Had no control, had nothing. Managed to pull over to the side of the road. When called into the beaver county Chrysler dealership I was told, "we just sell them, we don't make them." His vehicle has been one issue after another. The sliding doors not closing, the dvd player not working, the radio not working, the sliding door on driver's side still not working and they had to completely replace the gas tank because I couldn't even put gas in the tank it would shut off and wouldn't let gas get into the tank. Now this. We were scared for our lives and then told, "we just sell them we don't build them." This is not a safe vehicle.... consumer stated problem was solved. Updated 12/19/18

Wife and children in the van in August 2017 driving at around 55mph on highway. Message center told her to place vehicle in park before starting. Vehicle lost all power while in motion and she coasted to side of road. Would not start, towed to dealer dealer drove for 10 days before faulted on them. Chrysler repaired a "faulty egr." August 2018, message told her that auto on/off needed service. Vehicle lost all power at 30mph on residential street. Took to dealer, they replace a battery for auto off/on. September 2018, while pulling into garage van put up message telling her to place vehicle in park before starting. All power lost and vehicle died. Van has been at dealer for 29 days. Currently has data recorder installed, and we are in contact with Chrysler enhanced customer service to figure out the problem updated 11/29/18

I had my 2017 Pacifica fixed as part of the recall for the engine stalling issue a few months ago (18V049000). It stalled at an intersection, actually almost twice. The first time, it shuddered and *almost* stalled at an intersection when I accelerated on a green light, but then at the last second it picked up and started moving. A few intersections later, this time on a slight slope, the light turns green, I step on the accelerator, it shudders and stalls. I get the "move shifter to park" and have to restart the car. After restarting it's been working fine since. Obviously they haven't fixed the engine stalling issue.

The vehicle was in motion on a city street just driving straight. The engine shut off while driving. The display indicated to put the car in park to start the vehicle. The power steering shuts off. I was not going fast at the time and was able to stop, put it in park, press the brake, start the vehicle, and put it into drive. However, I was in traffic and almost was rear ended by another vehicle who was fortunately able to stop in time. This issue affects the brakes, engine, steering, power train and all around safety. I was lucky that I was driving and that my kids were not in the car. I was going to pick them up.

The contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. While driving 30 mph, the vehicle stalled and the "shift to park check engine" warning indicator illuminated. The contact also mentioned that the vehicle lost complete power and the clock needed to be reset. The contact also mentioned that the failure recurred while at a stop light. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was taken to hall Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram chesapeake (3353 western branch blvd, chesapeake, va 23321, (855) 544-8545) where the contact was informed that the system needed to be updated. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to a local auto shop where the contact was informed that the wiring harness was burnt, but it was not determined if that caused the failure. The vehicle was repaired again. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000. Updated 11/29/18*

We have a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica tourling L-plus that had a recent software update, all recalls have been completed. The van fully stalled while accelerated in the highway between 30-40 miles per hour, for about 5 seconds before re-engaging into gear. It did not feel like it was in between gears when it stalled- as far as we could tell, the engine still had power but temporarily stopped accelerating.

I was stopped at a stop sign, and when I tried accelerating the vehicle wouldn't move, it has just shut off, when I tried turning it back on, after putting it in park it wouldn't turn on. Luckily someone helped me push it out the way, and after waiting 10 minutes, the vehicle just started back up normally.

Today I was driving as usual and of a sudden the car started beeping. At the same time I noticed I lost control of my car and the screen on the dashboard shows shift to P to start. I figured my car shut off even though the transmission knob was on D position. This is very terrifying and I am very afraid of seeing this again especially on freeway. I googled afterward and have seen other people reporting the same issue before (https://www.pacificaforums.com/forum/474-Chrysler-Pacifica-minivan-issues-problems/2937-vehicle-shut-off-while-driving-45.html). I have routine maintenance of my car and also followed every recall requested by the manufacturer. I am hoping to solving this problem and never see this again. Thank you for your attention.

The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica touring plus with all the latest known software recalls up to date as of 8/22/2018 experienced a full stall while under wide open throttle and attempting to enter a highway on ramp. The stall seemed like a transmission lag, shifting delay or lack of response. The engine from 0-20 mph had plenty of power (RPM's); then when switching gears it seems the power was cut for a full 3-5 seconds while the transmission made a shift and only after letting off the accelerator (even though there were 0 rpms) did it finally kick into motion again and pull out of the stall. The systems auto stop was disabled via the override button on the dashboard when this occurred and the gas tank was 40% full.
