My van completely shut down while driving with my 2 kids in the car and would not start back up. It was not from the auto start/stop feature. The radio interior lights everything shut off. It would not even allow me to get it in N to push it. It was very scary because I was in the middle of a highway with my children. It is not my battery, alternator, or starter because I've had them tested. After speaking to multiple people and reading on the Chrysler forums this seems to be a common issue. If this issue persists I will be trading it in for a different make and model. Bummed because I absolutely love this van.

The van was running and I was stopped in the middle of an intersection, waiting to turn left. A warning message popped up on the dash--something about the start/stop system. I released my foot from the brake so as to continue through the intersection. Interior and exterior lights remained on however the vehicle would not move. I could not turn the shift knob out of drive, even after several attempts. Depressing the gas pedal has no effect. At some point I may have pressed the brake and then turned the shift knob back to park. I was then able to restart the vehicle and get out of the intersection. I was able to drive home after but the experience was dangerous and frightening.

While driving, my son, who was seated in the passenger side of the third row, noticed that his cupholder area was extremely hot. I pulled over and confirmed. We drove on and I told him to check. It stayed very hot for the duration of the drive. At the first visit the dealer said that they added insulation between the interior panels and the coolant lines in the area, though as an engineer I understood that said insulation would do nothing if it were squeezed tightly between the panel and the pipe. We noticed no change and reported the problem to Chrysler, who refunded the visit but took no further action. A repeat visit to the dealer had them saying there was less than five degrees difference between the hot spot and the surrounding area. I used my infrared thermometer to prove that the section of the interior panel is over 130 degrees whereas the surrounding panel is about 65. You can see this in the video I link to below. This is a safety issue, as second degree burns can result from temperatures that high, and it could start a fire. Repeated attempts to contact Chrysler were ignored. Https://youtu.be/gtbecz5chtg

While I am at a quick stop - stop sign, rotary, light, intersection - my vehicle will shut off without warning, causing me to have to put the car into park, restart, and put the car back into drive before I am able to continue in motion. This causes me to stall for 30 seconds - 1 minute with traffic piling up behind me.

The vehicle stalled in the middle of a city intersection. I was at a full stop at a stoplight, then when the light turned green, I proceeded forward into the intersection. After pulling into the intersection, the van stalled. I had to put the vehicle into "P" park and then restart the vehicle. Our family was in the vehicle and had a near miss with oncoming traffic.

My car purchased in 2018 from reed Jeep chrylser in overland park Kansas. In September of 2020, the vehicle was in hybrid/electric mode and stopped running as we were driving down the street. We were driving slowly and able to coast to the right side of the road and were able to safely leave it on a residential street. The car would not start and it was not an issue related to the starter or battery. We had the car towed to the dealership. The problem was reviewed by the engineering team with Chrysler and it was found to be a computer electrical hybrid component. Originally, Chrysler advised they had no replacement part anywhere in the country. After two weeks, they advised they would be able to get a component from the component manufacturer but that it would take time. The car remained in the service center for at least two additional weeks. They replaced the regular battery and performed recall on other components during this time as well. A little over a month later, the same failure/problem occurred. Fortunately, we were again on a residential street and leave it. A couple of hours later, we were able to start it and get it back to our residence. We tried to charge it using the 240V charger we had but the car would not take any additional charge even though not fully charged. Three days later, we returned the car to the dealership with the same complaint and were told that they could not find any problem with the car. Our overarching concern is safety, as there is no warning as to when the car will shut down.

I have taken my car to the dealership several times for the auto start stop. They replaced both batteries. The check engine light came on (it was flashing so had it towed) and they said it was a piston misfiring. Paid $900 to have it fixed. Two days later, the check engine light comes on again. After weeks of diagnosis the issue, with detroit's help, they said it was blow head cylinder. I was well over the warranty so I had to pay for new engine. Get this, the new engine warranty is for 3 years 100K miles so it would have been covered under warranty if they didn't change the warranty in 2016.

My van on multiple occassion has stalled in the middle of city intersections. While driving my car will have an electrical meltdown. All different warning messages will appear on dash, warning dings will go off, my wipers will go on without me turning them on, when I push the gas it will not drive. On one occasion the car accelerated without pressing the gas or if the gas was pressed it would accelerate more than the pedal was being pressed. All my buttons on my dash including A/C, auto start, back up camera/sensors will not respond. Its as though my car just dies. This occurrence has no common scenario that brings on the malfunction. I 've had times when it malfunctioned weeks apart and this last occurrence it was a year in between occurrences. I was told on a Chrysler forum to check my PCM. My batteries have been tested and passed. I currently do not have my aux battery installed as I do not want/like my autostart feature. This accident occurred all 5 times with my aux battery installed. My dealership said "too many electrical parts to check" and "we cant duplicate the problem/get error code to diagnose so take the van back till it happens again and call us while its happening and drive it in". first its unsafe and unpredictable. I have tried getting this fixed and they can't even/wont fix it or buy it back. No lemon law as I am second owner, not purchased new and the problems started happening at 34000 miles right before warranty expired. This vehicle is unsafe and Chrysler won't fix it/don't know how. No remedy after 2 years and 6/7 shop visits. I have opened a case with fca twice and they threatened me to pick up vehicle or they would charge me for the rental I had. Others have experienced this. Look at Chrysler Pacifica and Voyager van on facebook.

I have taken my vehicle to the dealership twice because the automatic start stop system failed to work. I picked it up last night. I stopped in a left hand turn lane. The engine stopped. When I took my foot off the brake nothing happened. It did not restart. I had to put the car in park and completely restart the engine to get it to come on. Luckily I was not in a dangerous point in the intersection when this happened. I was on a major us highway at a very busy intersection waiting to turn as the front car in the turning lane when this happened. The person behind me almost hit me anticipating to go when the light turned green.

We have a 2018 Pacifica with 10000 miles and on 4-1-2020 the check engine light came on as soon as it was started. We put the van in reverse to back out and it wouldn't go into gear. Ended up putting it back into park and tried reverse again and it jerked into gear moving the van. Took it to progressive Dodge Chrysler in Ohio and found it they need to replace the transmission vavle body and also something with the emissons. How does something like this go bad so fast...

While driving on a freeway, the engine started losing power and would not react to the gas pedal. In addition, the gear shift would not change when I tried to change it from drive to neutral. The car would purposely be slowed down by the engine as it was stuck in drive position. The created a dangerous situation as it was difficult to control car to move it into the emergency lane. After pulling over, smoke started coming out of the engine and vents. I was then unable to turn off the engine as the power button would not react when pressed. Per the dealership, the catalytic converters was clogged and overheated so needed to be replaced as well as the oxygen sensor. This should not have needed to be repaired in a car that is only 1.5 years old and created a very dangerous situation on the freeway.

Car will stall out while it's in drive, but braking. Yesterday it did it as I was turning left in the middle of an intersection. It stalled and turned off the engine flashing 'fcw/ lanesense unavailable restart required.' I then will have to shift to park and restart the car. This has happened several times and Chrysler has not fixed the issue.
