The electric door lock/unlock actuator on the driver's side door stopped unlocking that or any of the other locks. Several days later the actuator began to work again then a few days later again stopped working. This has repeated several times now. This problem occurred before several months after we had bought the vehicle used in mid 2012. At that time, a mechanic replaced the driver's side door actuator which seemed to solve the problem until it recurred this August. At all times, even when the driver's side door actuator did not function, the lock/unlock function on the remote has always worked. The safety issue is that in the event of an accident, the driver cannot unlock the passengers' doors.

My power locks do not work with the fob or with the inside power lock button. I've read so many complaints online about this exact issue that it is actually making me more angry. The door looks are a pretty basic feature of a vehicle. Not to mention the fact that people don't normally buy minivans unless they have kids etc. We have 3 kids and not having this door lock feature is ridiculous. By the way, it makes the automatic opening doors pretty useless, bc they won't unlock!

Power locks on the back sliding doors do not work. This is a big safety concern. I have to pull the lock up very hard from one side as I pull on the handle on the other side. This is happening on both doors of the vehicle. If their was an accident or fire it would be very hard to get my child out of the back seat. I am asking for a recall. I was looking this problem up online and their are pages of complaints and forums of people with the same issue.

2005 Chrysler Town and country power door locks & radio/dvd player inoperative. The power locks have stopped working at different intervals. Pulling the 20A iod fuse and reinserting it after 10 minutes or pulling the cable off of the battery for 10 minutes ** not*** fixed the problem so far. Van is currently in shop and we were told it was the fuse box module.

Power door locks stop working. Remote control activation of power liftgate activates alarm. Software defect in body control module. Chrysler charges for software update ($120 for half hour labor). Tsb 08-040-04 can temporary fix by removing iod fuse for 30 seconds to reset the body control module.

This is a common problem for many 2005 Chrysler Town & Country - powerlocks stop working, must pull the iod fuse and reset to fix it and it only fixes it for a few days. I was amazed to find hundreds of others similarly affected (autoforum.classifieds1000.com/Dodge-grand_caravan/power_locks_will_not_lock_or_unlock?pg=2 or here:bit.ly/yf3kvl), many of which have filed similar complaints - please have them fix this obviously common problem with a recall...

Power locks quit working. Vehicle acts like it was locked up when pressing the remote (horn beeps, lights flash) but locks don't lock. Power doors also quit working causing potential pinch-points. When the doors act up and bounce back open, they sometimes try to re-close but the interference sensor doesn't stop the door from closing on a body part. Can temporarily make it better by removing and replacing the iod fuse, but the problem returns a short time later. Problem began right after warranty expired. Dealer wants 300-800 to attempt to fix the problem but can't guarantee that either component will positively correct the problem. Hundreds of similar complaints on the web with the same issue and no positive corrective action.

2005 Chrysler Town and country with 70000 miles for the last year every few weeks the powers locks stop working and I find that I have to pull a fuse out and replace it, the fuse is still good but resets the door locks for a few days to sometimes a few weeks. But then again you stop try to lock the doors hear the horn beep as if the locks set but they do not.

I am experiencing at 80K miles on my Town and country, faulty rear door locks. I am extremely concerned about this issue secondary to having two small children. The automatic door locks no longer work. I fear that my children will open the doors while the car is in drive. This is not only a huge inconvenience of crawling through the vehicle to lock and unlock doors, but I am majorly concerned of my children's safety.

While driving at night on a dark road my lights started to flicker, it stop for a while but suddenly it went off, I ended up drive off the road into a small ditch. I have had problem with this for a year, the light switch is defective and Chrysler refuse to replace it. I have to pay to replace it.

We have a 2005 Town & Country minivan with locks that quit working often. We disconnect the battery for a few minutes and they work again for a day or two. This is very unsafe for many reasons. Sometimes they stop working and you don't know it until you get back in your car, thinking the whole time your car is locked and it is not. Also, having 3 children riding in a car with locks that don't work is very unsafe. I have a family member with the same minivan and they are having the same problem, how ironic. After reading on-line I have read how common this is. What do we have to do to get Chrysler to make a recall on this problem? we don't have the extra money in today's economy to have it fixed at the dealership. I am really hoping there is some way they make a recall on this problem. We have put some thought into getting a new minivan that is not so unsafe for our family. Very unhappy with Chrysler!!
