From the time my vehicle was new I had issues with the gas nozzle clicking off but the gas coming back out of the tank. In the beginning it was a very little bit and I could stand there and monitor it and pump in slowly and it wouldn"T do it. It has steadily progressed to where every time I try and fill my tank the gas pump would click off but the gas gushes out onto me and the car and the pavement " anywhere from 2 to 5 cups of gas. The tank isn't even full when it does this. I have had it do it when I have only pumped 1 gallon into the tank and continue to click off every couple of cents. It takes at least 10 minutes to put gas in my tank and then it isn't full. It does this no matter what gas station I go to. I have had the tps replaced 3 times, the fuel pump twice......I can't help but feel that all of these problems are inter-related. My minor concern is that this will cause a medical emergency for me as I have acute asthma/breathing issues. This has caused asthma attacks that I have been able to control but my fear is one day I will not be able to control it. My major concern is the gushing out of fuel will eventually result in a fire at the gas station. I really cannot believe there has not been a recall issued as this was a problem with the 2005 Durango's that a recall was issued (NHTSA campaign id #09V003000, NHTSA action #RQ08005) - no one is working to protect the public after their obvious failure to correct the problem.

As I was refueling I noticed in the pump that it was at 29 gallons but it was still filling up and my tank wasn't empty so right away I knew something was wrong and looked on the bottom that it was spilling all the gas I'm thinking from the inside of the filler neck or hose but from under the car so something is wrong because it didn't stop filling up, thx

I have two issues with my Durango. During fueling the pump does not shut off causing an overflow of gas on the ground, on my shoes, etc. This is an ongoing issue that has been happening since we purchased the vehicle. My mechanic thinks it is a sensor issue but Dodge has not recalled the vehicle to fix it. The second issue is I can take my key out of the ignition while the engine and ignition are in the run position, lock the car and take the key with me and the engine will run like the key is in the ignition.

I bought my 2006 Dodge Durango used with 119,000 miles in November 2013. Every time I fill up, the gas overflows. I always fill-up when stopping for gas because I drive an hour, one way, into town and have to get gas often. Regardless of how I pump gas it always overflows. I have tried pumping fast, pumping slow, and putting the nozzle all the way in. I have a two year daughter and I am concerned this overflow may ignite a fire.

When I filled my car with gas it the pump kicked off but fuel came spilling out from the tank. The fuel spilled over me, the car and the ground. At first I thought it was a one time thing but it has happened numerous times, even when I have not filled the tank completely. This has now caused serious rust around my tank and through the corner panel. It has now rusted through completely. I am afraid of the safety of the tank and filling the tank with gas. Not to mention the cost of lost gas.

Vehicle was purchased used in April of 2012 and the fuel overflow was noticed immediately upon purchase. Seller informed that it was a national problem with all Durango vehicles and there was no fix. In the meantime, the fuel overflows at each refill and has caused me to immediately wash down the area (while fueling) to prevent fire and additional corrosion.

Vehicle spots has everywhere when putting gas in. Can not put over 3/4 tank in or a least a gallon is coming back on your feet & ground. The paint is also rusting under the gas cap now due to this issue. I have noticed that this is an issue with this model year and there are numerous online complaints. The 2005. Was recalled due to the same issue. This year also should be recalled and fixed!

Problem when refilling the gas tank. When the tank gets full, fuel sprays out of the gas tank fill port. At first I thought it was faulty equipment at the gas station but it has happened consecutive times at different gas stations. Probably sprays out 8 or 12 ounces.

When fueling the vehicle the gas pump clicks off then fuel spews out the filler neck of the vehicle this has caused the paint to come off and a hole to rust in the side of the vehicle just under the fuel cap.

Every time we fill up, the gas spills out. By the time the nozzle clicks, it's too late and the fuel gushes out of the tank. My daughter was near me when it happened the first time! I've used various gas stations, but it always happens. It has to be the inlet check valve in the tank. It is not user error. Now I have to sit there forever and pump slow, or just go with half a tank, and in Colorado, it's not safe to do that if we break down in the cold and snow. No one fills the tank except me due to obvious safety reasons. I called Dodge years ago and they said it would fall on me to pay for their problem! now, it's just getting annoying that this still has not been resolved even though there are numerous complaints.

The shut off valve has not worked correctly for over the past year. When filling the gas tank gas is spit back on the car and driveway service. This happens even if I pause for a period during filling the tank to let pressure release. My dealer says they have never heard of this, had to believe with so many complaints all over the internet. I would like Dodge to step up and take care of the problem. Help.......

When filling fuel tank, when tank is full, gas will spill out filler neck. The spilled gas splashes everywhere, and has been on the body below the filler neck enough times that it has caused the paint to lift, and a rust hole to form in the fender. No other rust on vehicle.

During refueling. Once the gas nozzle clicks and the tank is full a great amount of gasoline spews out of the tank. Does not matter what gas station is used. Happens every time and is a definite fire risk. Multiple searches online demonstrate hundreds of results and videos about this exact issue.
