I was approaching a 4way stop in gaylesville al 35973 at intersection of highway 35 and highway 68. Luckily there was a truck stopped in front of me and the driver jumped out telling me vehicle was on fire. Before I ever got out of vehicle flames were shooting out from under the hood. The engine cover caught on fire and totaled out the vehicle it burnt the engine all the wiring the hood and front axles

These cars have massive oil leaks from bad seals on the oil cooler and filter housing assembly. This can cause your engine failure or a fire.

Vehicle was in motion and suddenly just shuts off without power to any of the hazard lights. It can get a lot of people killed with such a safety glitch. Does it, then turns back on maybe after 10 to 40 mins of being off.

I own a 2014 Dodge Journey with about 51K miles on it. Since yesterday, this vehicle has been shutting off and stalling while I am driving. The radio will flicker on and off and the instrument cluster will show all warning lights in a flashing manner, after a few seconds of that, the car will completely turn off while still in drive. On October 3rd, I was making a right turn, and the vehicle shut off mid turn. The brakes became stiff, lost the ability to steer the wheel and also lost functionality to my hazards. This morning, I was driving this same vehicle to my local Dodge/Chrysler dealership and the car once again shut off on me. This time I was in the process of taking off from a red light when the vehicle stopped in the middle of the intersection. Again, I lost the ability to even use my hazards. I am going to have it towed to my local dealership within the next few hours.

My wife was driving our kids around town and the vehicle stalled out as they were approaching a stop sign. No check engine light or any other indicators were triggered. The vehicle appeared to still be running and she could not shut the vehicle off immediately. She eventually lost power steering as well. After a few minutes she was able to start the vehicle back up again and it functioned normally as expected and she was able to drive home. We were expecting some sort of light to come on so we could get a troubleshooting code but nothing. I researched online and was alarmed to find out that this problem seems to be somewhat common and there was a recall back in 2011 for 2010 Dodge Journey models that were stalling out. I have not seen evidence of a recall for later models. I am concerned that this could happen on the open road like a highway where the vehicle is going at high rates of speed and stalls out causing my wife to lose control of the vehicle. I plan to take the vehicle to a Dodge dealership but from what I have seen online it seems no obvious resolution has been mentioned. I am very concerned at this point.

Key fob doesnt always unlock/lock/start with push start, usually its delayed or vehicle will say vehicle is running but the ignition wont kick on start with push start. Will be dropping my daughter off at school and with an open of the door the vehicle signals that the key has left the car. I have replaced the key fob and batteries and continue to have this issue. Biggest concern is not being able to start the vehicle when needed or being locked out. Also, the touch screen and radio dials don't always work on steering wheel.

Since 2015 this car has drained approximately 5 batteries. I purchased this automobile brand new 11/11/14 with 14 miles on it. This car was first taken to orange park Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram 7233 blanding blvd., (904) 777-5500 in jacksonville, fl because of a drained battery and the car has to be started by pop-A-lock per my state farm insurance provider. The record shows that this occurred approximately three (3) times. Each time the car was returned with supposedly a new battery with no problem found with the last incident on 11/6/16. I relocated to North augusta, SC and on 11/23/16 and on 12/12/16 my car battery was drained again, state farm roadside assistance (all american road SE 706-631-3580) was called once again and the car was taken to bob richards Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram 1666 jefferson davis highway in graniteville, SC (803) 349-4910. This dealership stated they found no problems, and after keeping the car the entire week end returning it to me "fixed". 1/9/17 this car will not start again, notified state farm roadside assistance they again referred me to all american roads SE 706-631-3580 the car was jumped and started, but the "check engine" light remained on. 1/10/17 the car will not start again and I called Chrysler customer care where an appointment was set for the car to be serviced on Thursday 1/12/17 @ 10:00 am with milton rueben Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram 3508 Washington road augusta, ga 30809. Pease help me, I am 67 year old senior and don't know what to do. The vehicle was stationary each time.

We purchased a 2014 Dodge Journey on 8/04/2016 under the assumption that the vehicle was certified. We eventually got the dealer to agree for us to bring the vehicle back to be certified and address all the other concerns. We picked the vehicle up in NY, heading home to pa and the car caught on fire while driving on the highway with my wife, our only daughter, two youngest sons, and myself. We were stranded, the dealer and manufacture did nothing including the warranty company. Although, the vehicle had factory, we just purchase the vehicle including "required warranty" for $2000, we were denied any assistance from Dodge and the dealership. We have been in constant contact with the dealer via different mediation and to this day, we are still on our own with out a vehicle that is safe to drive.

I took my vehicle in to the dealership for the recall to update the computer. After having the recall fixed in May 2016, I was turning left from a complete stop at a stop light and the vehicle started missing, it would not accelerate properly, and the engine light started flashing. This was on 6/2/16. The vehicle was running really rough, as though it was going to stall. I came to a complete stop at the next traffic light, the engine light quit flashing & appeared solid. It stopped missing, but there was a definite lack of power and acceleration capability. I got the vehicle back to dealer on 6/3/16. Again unable to recreate incident, so they reran the computer update from the recall, cleared codes & turned check engine light off. On 7/2/16, I was once again sitting completely stopped at a traffic light getting ready to turn left. While idling at stop light check engine light started flashing again & the vehicle started running rough. I was turning into a parking lot for a shopping center. As I attempted to pull into a parking spot the vehicle stalled half in the parking spot. I put the vehicle in park and was able to start it back up and pull the rest of the way in the spot. After being in the store about an hour, we came back out, the vehicle started, but again had a definite lack of power. After driving it less than a mile, it stalled out again while slowing down to come to a stop. We were able to start the vehicle back and get it back home, still with a definitely lack of power, and park it for the holiday weekend. After the holiday, on 7/5/16, I took the vehicle back to the dealership. Once again they can't find anything wrong, have cleared codes, turned off check engine light & advised me to come pick it up. I chatted with Dodge customer service and they claim to be unaware of the issue or any resolution. Transcript attached.
