Taking exit off us 12 onto I-82 (yakima) my vehicle suffered complete engine failure. The brakes did not work and had to rely on the emergency brake, stopping about 100 feet away and nose in traffic. My family to include my 39 weeks pregnant wife, sons (3 & 4), and myself were in the car. During my five emergency brake attempts I hit my head on the frame of the door. I feel that we are lucky to be alive as we had skid a few times before stopping with no further injuries. As of now, I have a splitting headache and my wife is being monitored for signs of fetal distress; all around [xxx] experience. The Dodge dealership that I purchased it from refused to lend me a loaner vehicle, said that it happens, and offered to look at it in two weeks; bs! information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

While making a left hand turn into a shopping mall, my car stalled. No steering, brakes, power, etc. The only thing that stopped my forward progress was a curb. Almost got hit from behind! I was able to go thru the start motions and restart my car. I had it towed to the dealership where I bought it. The stall was "not found on the computer check". they did find valve leaking & replaced booster check valve. I just got it back today (4/18/15), let's hope this never happens again. I drive on a highway and it if it happened there - who's knows what the outcome could have been.

I was slowing down and turning right into my driveway when the engine stalled. I was going 8 mph when I noticed I had no power steering and the rpms were at 0. my engine stalled for no reason. I have push button start/ignition, so this is not a case of a heavy keychain moving the ignition into auxiliary or off mode.. this is my wife's car and she drives my son and daughter everywhere. I am very worried this could happen in a dangerous situation or at higher speed! I'm not a mechanic, but I have noticed with the V6/auto 6 speed transmission, this car has very strange shifting programs / "curves". it seems to shift early and sometimes when slowing down, it's like the transmission doesn't downshift quickly enough. That may be the cause for what it's worth. Bottom line, I need to know it's not going to do this again with my family in the car!

The car stalled on me twice nearly getting into a wreck. Took it to the dealership where I bought it from they put it on the computer. They said that they could not find anything wrong. Then about 21/2 weeks later it did it again. I have a print out of the computer analysis.
