It acts like it gets stuck between 1st and 2nd gear when starting off. It used to happen occasionally and letting up on the gas seemed to get it to shift. Now it is happening almost every time when I start off and is taking longer to shift and then all of a sudden it kicks in. It seems to be worse when the truck is cold. I have been putting off taking it to the transmission shop as I can't afford to replace the transmission but it looks like I will have to do that soon so I am not left stranded!

My 1994 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L has started to aggravate me. When the transmission tries to shift into second gear you have to let up off the gas to allow it to switch. I am afraid it is going to cause someone to hit me in the rear end. This is the only gear that this happens. I am also afraid that it is going to cause the transmission to just quit working all together!!! I am hoping that someone reads this and would have a solution other than me having to get another tranny or rebuilding it. Someone has told me that it could be a sensor of some kind. So if anyone knows please share. Thanks everyone!
