While driving 30mph & started to smell an odor inside vehicle. Smoke was coming through the vents. Pulled to side of road & retrieved the fire extinguisher. After leaving vehicle, it was engulfed in flames. Fire department called & put out flames. Was extensive damage done to vehicle. Fire department suspected fire was caused by a short in electrical wirings, but not definite due to damage.

A fire broke out in the cab of the vehicle which melted the steering column. The dealer and manufacturr have been notified.

Vehicle experiencing problem with lower cover of the streeing column overheating from the inside of vehicle. Believed this condition is a result of ignition wiring runing through the cover. Cover was removed and connector was cleaned off and cover replaced. But condition still occurs whenever the fan to the A/C is used. Dealer/manufacturer were not notified at this time.

While driving with the A/C on high smoke started to come from the steering column, no fire was seen. Consumer stated he pulled over and pulled the wires apart. Also states that the wires were not charred, just super hot.
