It's a real sham you take care of your vehicle. And the paint starts peeling off like a piece of junk. Seen several trucks from several areas such as Florida, Missouri and Colorado and the same thing with the paint peeling.

There should be a class action lawsuit against Dodge for poor quality paint in all 1999 through 2002 Models. I see the same malady on all vehicles of these years I see on the street. Paint Peeling and fading quickly..my dodge ram's rooftop paint is degrading quickly and other parts of the truck I'm sure will follow. Shame on this car company for allowing this to happen and not owning up to it. I believe the paint manufacturer should be held liable as well...I paid a lot of money in 2000 for this SLT Laramie Luxury pick up truck only to see the paint degrade beyond reproach.

the bumper had a bit of chrome peeling, I touched it with a fair amount of pressure and went right through it, in many places I might add.I thought it would be a good idea to put a new one on ,not only for the looks but for the safety factor.

The paint on my 99 dodge ram 1500 is awful!! It seems to have just peeled away!!! Every dodge I see on the street has the same issue. When is dodge going to fix their problems!!!!!

These are picture of my truck in the past few years the paint is slowly fading and chip off. I have to save money to have my truck painted. I have always though Dodge was a PRESTIGE vehicle to own now I am not sure. They have known about the problem but yet refuse to recall the trucks to correct the problems. Between the dash cracking and looking a mess now the paint. I use to own a 98 Nissan Stanza the paint looked like it just came off the show room along with the inside of the car with no broken dash nor anything else. What does that say about foreign vehicle makers and Dodge. Made in America use to mean something now I am not sure. Dodge should back the vehicle they make after all their name is still on the truck. Why wouldn't you recall if you know about the problems. Plus think of it this way if you took care of your loyal dodge owners they tell their friends and their friends tell their friends. This Would improve your sales and your business reputation. A few recalls would not hurt your business but improve it. Show you care about your loyal owners and your product you produce.
Update from Jul 20, 2015: Well It took over 5 years to get my faded paint on My 99 Dodge Ram fix and over $4000.00 to take care of what Dodge should have. The Dash also was replace but not from dodge parts did not want to take a chance to have the same things happening all over again. I found a great body shop that did an awsome job and back their work unlike Dodge them self. I have lots of complements on my truck and some even want to buy it from me but I think I will keep her.
Update from Jul 20, 2015: It took over 5 years and $4000.00 to restore my truck she is a Prestige looking truck. I found a great body shop who backs their work unlike Dodge them selves. I have also replace the Dash that was crumbling on it self and could have been a safety issue but not with a Dodge part but a company that backs their product for life unlike DODGE. I lots of complements on her now and lots of people have asked if I want to sell her. But I think I will keep her.
