my dodge is almost paid off. i have hauled, towed even to S.C. for bike 2 years in a row. one day the front transfer case cracked. so i replaced the front case, all u-joints, and tranny mount. about 2 weeks later the front case cracks. so now i rebuild the whole transfer case. drove for about 2 days and sound likes the tranny is in a bind, loud grinding. so i check the flex plate, torque converter, etc. all is good. my theory is f*ck it. i am going to drive the bitch till it cant move anymore and tell mt lenders where they can find ( on the side of the road)!!!!!!!! lost count of how much money spent. so i just floor it and wait for it to go.

I've gone through 2 transfer cases in 30,000 miles. I bought the truck around thirty thousand miles ago six months later the transfer case broke, not just internally. The case busted around the rear drive line so i got it fixed. now less than a year later it did the exact same thing. i have heard that the snap ring on the back of the transmission will sometimes break, and i also heard that there is similar one the back of the transfer case that can cause this type of damage. Dodge is unwilling to admit there is defect. nor offer any suggestions to help me get it fixed, I'm pissed thousands of dollars to fix and no answers.

90,000 miles, transfer case went out on my 1999 Ram 1500. I hear that this is an ongoing problem with Dodge. Will never buy one again.
