Unknown Will be driving down the road and the truck will shut off. When this happens it also affects the power steering and the power brakes. Has happened at a spotlight and I had to push it thru a busy intersection. Has happened going down the road just at random. No warning. But it does show (No Bus) when this happens but it does not trigger a code or engine light Try to start it and it will not start. Sometime it's only a few minutes up too 1/2 Hour the last time it cut off.

While I was driving on a city road, the vehicle just shut off. Almost like I turned the ignition off. All gauges worked as normal, stereo, A/C, etc(aux power components). No check engine light came on or anything. Pulled to side off road and turned hazards on. I tried to restart vehicle it would turn over but would not start, I then noticed in the odometer that it stated "no bus". thinking it may have been an electronic system issue with fuel system I checked fuse box under the hood. I pulled the fuel system relay out then reinstalled. Truck started up ( all this took about 5-10 min). So I purchased a new relay but waited to have see if issue was resolved. Sitting in a parking lot a few days later I started vehicle and started to load groceries, the vehicle shift off again, I tried to restart and same thing, looked at odometer and again it stated 'no bus" so I installed new relay. Put in off position and tried again. Still no luck. Waited a few min and tried to start vehicle again and it started up. Looked up on forums to find possible solution and the next step was to try the coil. I have installed new coil on 06/05/2018 and am currently waiting for issue to come again. To day is 06/06/2018. Thinking back the vehicle has had some jerking motions that almost resemble the same symptoms but never fully died, just jerked really bad but continued to drive. This is unsafe for if I was on a highway it kills power to the power steering pump and could cause an accident.

10:30 pm driving down a two lane highway no shoulder on a hill, it was like I turned the key off. Sure glad the flashers worked, I had my cell phone and a flash light so I could slow traffic down.lucky.. no one was hurt or killed.the pick up will crank over wont start. Towed it home, the odometer reads no bus there is no codes that can be read at the diagnostic link connector.it reads no link.. why does Dodge put a link connector on vehicles if there is no way to read any codes so I can fix it without spending hundreds of dollars at the dealership? the internet is full of Dodge with the same problem that people cant fix without hauling to the dealership.sure hope you can help fix this problem.(an electrical mess).

When I purchased my Dodge truck in 2012 the car lot where I bought it had used some kind of glue and tape on the dash it had every small crack. About 3 months later while driving down the road piece of dash fell out under my feet. Small pieces fell out several more times then bigger pieces started coming lose. I had to pull over and remove most of the dash in pieces. Now windshield is cracked my mechanic say its because of the dash being busted up like it is, that caused my windshield to crack.

I went to start up my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 and the whole dash was dead. No instrument gauges and "no bus" appeared on the odometer. Took it to my Dodge dealership and they said it was a bad BCM. Need to replace it. I contacted Dodge headquarters to ask if they can work with me on the price and they said no. There has been numerous complaints about this specific part going bad on other Dodge models. This is a serious problem since I could have been driving on the freeway and all my gauges, speedometer, and everything else goes dead in the instrument panel.

2000 Dodge Ram 1500. The dash is faulty and falling into pieces. Due to the dash literally falling apart, electrical wiring and electrical components are exposed. Concerned about the risk of fire or electrical shock. Also concerned about occupant safety if a crash occurred due to the lack of integrity of the dash.

Potential safety issue. When the engine quits, power steering is lost. With the small steering wheel and low gear ratio, extreme effort is required to steer. The Dodge 2000 Ram 1500 pickup also has a computer for the engine. This has caused the engine to shut down suddenly and steering became extremely difficult. This has happened three times Dodge has not been able to determine if the computer or the wiring is at fault. To replace the computer costs $750 with no certainty this will fix the problem. Chrysler/Dodge has not been willing to assist.

The dashboard of my vehicle has cracked and recently parts of it have caved in. Wires are now exposed to the elements and I believe this poses a huge safety issue if there is an electrical failure (e.g., brake lights fail). This defect in the dash has been acknowledged by Chrysler.

My complaint is in regard to my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 dashboard. It has been cracking for years and the wiring underneath is now almost 100% exposed. I have already had electrical problems and have just recently in the past month have gotten the electrical system restored. I have contacted daimler Chrysler and constantly been given the run around. Please help me as I know I am not the only consumer to have this same problem. Thank you very much.

First is the dash. I bought the truck in Feb 04 with 74,000 miles on it and shortly after I noticed a crack in the dashboard, since then the dash is falling apart and is more brittle than a sporting clay. If you snap off a piece and look at it you can see that about 1/5th of the way down from the top is brown since it has cooked in the sun. So that proves that Dodge uses very cheap plastic for the dashboards. I looked into replacing it about 6 months ago and the top piece of the dash cost about 200$ and now that I have gotten my tax returns back I was going to get a new one but the price is now 375$. I guess Dodge finally realized the problem with these dashboards and decided to cash in on them. The torque converter went out on the drive home from the dealership also, but 50 bucks from me and 2100$ from the warranty people fixed that. Second is the asd relay which means automatic shutdown relay and it isn't kidding with the name. A couple years ago when I started my truck it would shut off right away and wouldn't run right until I feathered the gas for a little bit, after replacing the throttle body control solenoid, the idle air control motor and mass air flow sensor I did a little more research and found it to be a 10 dollar relay from Napa. The third problem is a whooping noise coming from the engine that I still can't figure out what it is. The truck makes the noise when its sitting still so I know its nothing in the suspension, although its louder when idling over small bumps. The fourth was the speed sensor in the rear differential, ABS and brake light came on but didn't affect performance at all, replaced the sensor and didn't have any more trouble from it. Fifth problem is the back window leaks but I'm going to fix that with a generous blob of welder glue inside when I finally get around to pulling the headliner down.
