Fixed this same pinion bearing problem 3 times in my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 about ever 30-40K miles.
Now my 2002 1500 is on it's 2nd fix in 100k. Did last almost 50k miles this time.
Last time I found a solid spacer and shim kit to replace the crush sleeve, and switched to Mopar synthetic fluid. This helped some.
The design is bad and is a known problem, but Dodge will not recall them.
Best solution change letters on the side from Ram 1500 to F150
