I was just driving down the road barely going 30 miles an hour and then suddenly lost control of the vehicle. when I stopped sliding and went to move the vehicle the truck wouldn't move. it was only then that I discovered the the left rear tire had snapped completely off and was lying under the rear axle of my truck. I had to hire a tow truck to tow my vehicle to a auto mechanic and then have the mechanic completely replace the entire axle.
Update from Jan 11, 2011: the fix cost $3000.00 because there is no replacement axles available and the problem is so frequent that the axle is a rare find at a junk yard.
