The contact owns a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that the door label has incorrect tire information. When the vehicle was taken to the mechanic, they did not know how much air to put in the tire due to the incorrect label. The label reads P245/20R17, but should read P27560/R20. This issue is similar to NHTSA recall # 04V221000 (equipment:other:labels). Daimler Chrysler stated that nothing could be done. The current mileage is 50,000 and failure mileage was 45,000. I was driving my truck when I had a flat tire and was stranded. I put my spare tire on and drover to my house. I then had a inspection of the tires to find the front tires were showing signs of underinflation and wear on the outer edges. The rear tires including the one that went flat were showing signs of overinflation, wear in the middle of the tire. I called daimler Chrysler customer support on two occasions(case #14711417) and informed them that the tire inflation label in the door jam on the driver side of the vehicle, the same on the dealer and handbook refer you for quick reference. It stated the vehicle came with P245/70R17, as per the vehicle information report from the dealer states that the vehicle came with P275/60R20. The P275/60R20 size wheels are currently on the vehicle and came with them from the factory. Daimler Chrysler does not want to pay for the tires and the vehicle is still under warranty. They state that its goodyears responsibility to replace the tires, when they installed the wrong tire pressures label on the vehicle.

Consumer purchased material that was not indicated on the door or window sticker telling the consumer the correct tires. Also, tire pressure was not correct for this vehicle. Consumer contacted the manufacturer, and was told that was the way we do it.
