Ram 1500 SLT 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 251,120 miles

Went to Dodge today 10/29/19 to ask about the recall on this truck, They said sorry, it was not manufactured on a certain date even though it has the exact same problem as the recall during the same timeframe. (Rear end clunking / Grinding on takeoff and around corners.) Dodge needs to be made to fix all the trucks with this problem.

Ram 1500 Crew Cab Slt 5.7L Hemi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 33,960 miles

I took my truck into a dealer in El Monte, Calif in 2008 to have them replace the limited slip unit. My mileage at that time was33,960.It still did not work right so I took it back to them and they said that there was nothing wrong. I drove the truck until February 2013 when noticed that there was noise coming from the rear end.

I took it to the people Performance Gearing Irwindale Calif. that used to build rear ends for me back in1970.for my other car. They took it apart and told me that the dealer put an open type rear end in instead the limited slip unit that it originally had.

They replaced the open type with a new limited slip unit and the cost of the new unit cost was $479.00 just for the unit. the total cost to install new bearings and seals came to 1022.00.The dealer that did the work is not in business any more so I can not deal with them. I feel that they did not replace the unit with what was same type the came with the truck from the factory. I am only asking for the cost of the new limited slip unit which I had replaced and not the total bill.

Thank you

Ram 1500 SLT

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,894 miles

After trying to determine if it's the diff, sideshaft bearing or drive shaft, after checking the drive shaft universals and the half shaft bearings I opened the diff cover and found pieces of a cap in the bottom....now I am trying to find a parts breakdown of this diff,Can anyone out there assist me with some advise.....Dodge should have an unlimited warrenty on something that they know is a HUGE problem. They brag about the Hemi being so strong and then they match this engine with inferior S..t.
