While stopping at a traffic light the consumer heard a breaking sound from the rear left side, but didn't think it came from her vehicle. Two hours later, the noise occurred again, but louder. The vehicle immediately started spinning in the left direction until it crashed into a ditch and hit a concrete barrier while spinning driver's door opened, and the seat connection in the middle broke. This was a bench seat. The driver's side slid forward, and the passenger's side slid backwards. When vehicle was picked up the rental store mechanic determined that the rear axle broke.
