The consumer complained that the headlight dim switch was not functioning on the 2004 Dodge 1500 since April 2005. The headlight would stay on bright or dim but not switch. At the same time the windshield washer would not work. The dealer replaced the multifunction switch, but the problem persisted. The vehicle had been back to two different dealers four times, and had the same switch replaced twice, but the problem recurred, but was not constant. The contact wrote to Chrysler, but had no satisfaction. Also, on one occasion the vehicle would not accelerate when attempting to pass another vehicle. At that time, the cruise control would not work, and the headlights would not come on. This problem had not recurred, but the dealer had no explanation or solution. (11/17/05)

The cruise control shuts off intermittently when the power windows are activated. The vehicle was brought to Dodge of burnsville, where the problem was not duplicated by the mechanic. I can now induce this problem consistantly by activating the power windows.

Cruise control will shut off if I use 2 or more of the power windows at the same time. Cc will also shut completely off when you hit the brakes, not just disengage. Took to local dealer and they said there isn't a fix for the problem but they also stated Dodge is aware of the problem. This happened once with the window switch problem while I was passing a slow vehicle with my cruise on. I rolled up 2 windows and the cruise shut off during the pass.

When the driver moved across two lanes to initiate a left turn the truck lost all power. The consumer pushed down on the accelerator but noting happened until the driver pushed the pedal all the way to the floor. When the pedal was pushed all the way to the floor the truck lurched forward quickly at a very high RPM. The problem has never occurred again, even after the dealer examined the vehicle. The cruise control would not disengage until the vehicle's speed exceeded 8 mph over the set speed.
