The contact owns a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at a low speed and approaching a stop light, the front driver side wheel bearing seized and fractured. The front fender was damaged, the driver side hub assembly, and the front driver side tire were destroyed during the failure. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 71,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

My 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 truck has 26,000 miles on it. We have been told by a mechanic's shop that the front hub bearings are in dire need of being replaced. I see that 2006 models have been recalled by Dodge for the same problem. I do not think that 26,000 miles warrants something of this nature failing and it seems apparent that this is a manufacturer's defect.
