problem #3

Ram 1500 8-cyl

  • 48,800 miles
The driver's side door lock actuator failed causing it to be stuck in the "locked" position. Using the key fob and manually turning the key in the door lock had no effect on the mechanism. The only way to open the door was by entering through the passenger side. Upon opening the door from the inside by use of the door handle the handle became stuck in the open position and had to be pushed back to its default setting. The lock makes a very loud "pang" noise now when locking as if metal on metal contact is being made.

I closed the door on 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 to go around the truck to get me grand daughter out of the other side rear door. While walking around the truck the doors locked on there own and kept locking as I tried to open the door with a key. All while my grand daughter was locked in the truck. I finally timed the key turn and was able to unlock and get my grand daughter. I didn't happen for about 2 weeks, but it just happened\ again. This is not safe and didn't know if it has happened to anyone else.
