problem #2

Ram 1500 3.7L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 66,000 miles

Can't use the truck because the check engine light is on again. It will code for number 2 cylinder misfire. I can replace the cylinder coil and the light will go off, but if I drive it the light will come back on after a short while. Then it will start flashing and the engine will run rough. Just got through having the rocker arm and springs replaced along with the valve cover that the rocker arm punctured. With the light on again, I'm afraid to drive it because I know the rocker arm will come off again. I'm wondering if this is a PCM problem. If the cylinder doesn't fire at compression but fires at the start of the exhaust cycle, there should be some explosion that may force the valve up and knocking the rocker arm off.

Ram 1500 SLT 4.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 91,844 miles

Dodge knew about this problem with the rockers arms knocking off back in 2000. They supposedly fixed it then. Well they sure as HELL didnt fix it seeing how it happened to a 2005 1500 Ram, Even called corporate about it and of course they denied it. Said there was no red flags on it. Well this is really bullcrap. They need to recall the 4.7 engine and fix it the right way. Still have to make payments on a Truck we can drive. And having problem finding the parts to fix it. I am fed up with Dodge I should have listen to my wife when she said she didnt want a Dodge Truck because of the problems with them. Dodge should be a shame of them selves and THEY NEED TO RECALL THIS ENGINE AND FIX IT THE RIGHT FRIGGIN WAY .
