With cold starts the transmission slips if I don't let it warm up for a couple minutes. Once the truck warms up you would never know there is an issue. I usually always warm the truck up for a few minutes before driving so its not that big a deal but when I first discovered the problem I thought I would have to look at replacing the transmission. My mechanic told me there is a small screen in the transmission that filters the fluid that is dirty. I have not had the issue fixed yet because its not enough of an inconvenience to pay the $170 he quoted me.

I was driving down the freeway and the transmission wet from overdrive to drive and the engine light came on. It went into a limp mode and had to drive back home on the freeway at 35mph.

Third time this has happened only this time its 8000 miles out of warranty. I contacted Chrysler and they told me that the dealership is under new ownership and since it was a workmanship issue that they were not covering it. What a bunch of dickweeds their customer service team are. Its time to lawyer up on these losers.

My trans started to slip. It started with reverse. But the first to go out was drive (od) . So I only had 1st and 2nd and reverse. The third day reverse went out before I could do anything. Now no reverse and no drive. It will not shift by itself. I have to do it manually and Only the first two gears.
I just replace the motor four months ago and the mechanics never said they saw anything wrong with the engine and trans hook up. Now to repair it can cost between $2000 and $4000. To put a used trans in the labor cost is $400 to $800. I can pick up a good trans for less than $300. This really sucks when you are on a fixed income and you are lucky to have money for gas.
I am trying to find someone that would help do the work of dropping the old and putting in the used one.
