Ever since I bought my vehicle, back in 2006 brand new. I have had problems with this braking while driving with severe shaking. I have brought my vehicle to Dodge and Pembroke Pines many times to have brake pad and rotors replaced. I also have changed my tie rod shocks drive and calipers recently, and the problem still exists.

Dodge has no cure for this because, I have talked with service and repair mechanics and they gave me the runaround as far as. Maybe it's warping the rotors, which I replaced several times, also resurfaced several times, even went to buy vented and slotted new rotors and pads, but the problem is still there!!

Don't know what to do! I have changed my bearings on both sides , until still when driving over 40 miles an hour the dangerous, and possibly the death of me shaking occurs. No one in my family wants to drive my vehicle, and I travel about 80 miles per day to work one way, with this vehicle. I want to invest in America to buy American products, but Dodge is going to force me to invest better into the foreign Japanese market of the Toyota Tundra pick up.

I can't believe a company like Dodge who so many Americans believe in would treat us this way! I served my country in our military for 23 years and I am damn disgraced about my truck, which I love.

Where do I begin? I bought this truck from Chrysler Town N Country, in Martinsville, IN. When the salesman sold me the truck, he pointed out it had new front tires and ball joints on it. Hind-sight being 20/20...that bastard knew the truck had a front end problem. After I put 5000 miles on the truck (35,000 when I bought it) the front was starting to hop every time I touched the brakes, mainly around 55 to 70 Mph. I took it into my local Mieneke. They turned my front rotors, replaced the front brakes, and said it was "all good." It was doing it again the next day. I took it in and got 4 new tires. This helped for a couple of weeks, but the tires ware funny and it goes right back to hopping. I took it back in to Meineke and they said, now, it needs the back rotors turned....they did, it was better for a day.

Today, I replaced the front two rotors, put new brakes on it, and 2 new front tires....its still hopping and shaking. I took it back to Meineke and they gave me some print-out called TSB 02-001-07 REV, and said this might be it. I don't know....I don't care.

I hate making my payment on this truck every month. Its a waste of money and its dangerous. That's why it had the new tires on the front when I bought it, so you could test drive it and it would feel ok so they could get it off the lot. That salesman watched me put my two little girls in this truck and drive off KNOWING DAMN GOOD AND WELL IT WAS BAD. I hate this truck and I will never buy another Dodge vehicle again. I have $1,500 to $2,000 in this so far, I'm at a loss for words to describe how mad I am over this hunk of metal.

This 2006 Dodge has really turned out to be a real big piece of sh*t. not only can you not haul any weight with this thing you cant stop it eather with out being shaken out of the frigen cab and thats with new brakes and rotors at a cost of 250.00 per axle. this will be my last purchase of any dodge product I would sooner walk than to give any of my hard earned money to them bastards. they say the American car companies are in trouble and failing well I hope that dodge is the first to go belly up WHAT A HUNK OF SH*T!!!!!!!!!!

I bought my Dodge 4.7L Ram 1500 in 2006 used. At the time it was about eight months old. I left for another tour of Iraq so didn't drive it much until 2007 (on leave) and again in 2008 when I returned. I noticed a faint shudder sometimes when I applied the brakes. Being a do-it-yourselfer I replaced the rotors and pads on all four brakes. Recently the shudder became dangerous to the point that the truck was being jerked to the left and I had to fight to keep it in my lane. I took it to an auto repair shop and was told both front and rear right side calipers were bad. Again, I replaced all four rotors and pads but this time also replaced the calipers and brake lines. This is all after having to replace both front hubs, the rack and pinion, the fuel sending sensor, the steering column multi-function switch (twice), the lug nuts (they became so loose it was almost impossible to remove them) and the lower ball joints because the left lower was broken. This is all before 65,000 miles.

Anyway, after all this work the truck still has a shudder. So, I got on-line and the cell and began researching all the complaints and what Dodge tech's (the ones not waiting for my cash) had to say. One of the techs sent me a Dodge TSB 02-001-07 REV. A that perfectly describes the symptoms I was experiencing. Apparently, according to this TSB, the lower front and rear control arm bushings were inadequate for this type of vehicle and cause the truck to drift one way or another and cause a shudder when braking. The mystery and what the TSB doesn't address is why the rotors warped, twice. However, I only noticed the shudder between 50-60 mph. So, I will have the bushings replaced which will cost another $500.

I'm sure I'm like a lot of you and don't have a choice but to continue repairing the hunk of crap until I pay it off. I have been a GM man for years and decided on a whim to switch. Bad mistake!
