There is a (tsb 02-001-07 rev. A) that calls out a shudder, braking, shimmer... blah blah blah... on level ground and certain speeds. My issue is not on level ground, my problem exist on decline of 7% when the brake is applied very slightly the front brakes or front suspension shudders, and shakes so violently that the entire truck and the steering wheel is out of control, if you grab to tight on the steering wheel you may over correct your steering and eventually could cause you to overturn your vehicle. There is no excuse for this, I have had my rotors changed, brakes changed, tires balanced, and rotated but the problem still exists. I am telling you that this is a very dangerous situation for anyone to be in. I would love to take the owner of the Dodge co. And his family for a ride. I will almost guarantee that something would get done about this issue. Rotors should last for more than 6 months, but the truck is violently out of control and too dangerous for me to allow my wife or other family members to drive this vehicle until it is fixed or I sell it. Once I sell it I will not purchase another Dodge product again, I am tired of wasting my time and money on this issue. I am tired of the dealerships giving me the run around and oh it's your rotor are quote "warped" un-quote is how it is documented on my paperwork..

Brake failure.
- Clermont, FL, USA
Premature warping of front brake rotors, causing severe front end shaking when braking at highway speeds almost causing loss of vehicle control. Even after replacing defective or prematurely worn parts, problem recurs in a relatively short time causing additional problems with front end components, such as tie rod ends, and wheel spindles, and bearings.

2006 Dodge Ram 1500, steering wheel shakes & truck pulls when brakes applied. Brakes back & front changed rotors & pads. Same condition. This condition was reported June 15/07 7 tie rod ends changed & brakes. The second set of brakes have been installed checked tie rods defective & sloppy on second set. Vehicle has 71727 km`S & Dodge will not change tie rod ends saying truck is out of warranty period. Checking used 2006 to 2008 Dodge Ram have had tie rods changed. Suspect Chrysler Dodge does not want to advertise this defect with recall because after tie rods changed alignment is required.

My 2006 Ram 1500 2 wheel drive, big horn edition shakes while braking at approximately 70 mph until it slows to approximately 55 mph. Noone can find the problem. The truck shakes so badly, it feels like the front end is going to shake off! I have replace all 4 tires, had wheels balanced, replaced all 4 rotors, brakes, calipers, inner and outer tierods, front wheel hubs, shocks and the truck still shakes so bad that im scared I will be thrown into oncoming traffic if I had to stop fast.... I cannot find the problem and no one, not even the dealer can find the cause!

Brake performance failure beginning at 9,000 odometer miles: At approximately 9,000 miles the brakes on my Ram 1500 2 wheel drive began to vibrate when applied..normal brake use with 65 to 80% at highway speeds up to 75 mph, with no excessive or extreme load conditions, from purchase up to the initial failure. Being 2300 miles from home I waited to visit the dealer upon return. Now at 12,000 odometer miles the vehicle was experiencing severe chatter when applying brakes and exhibited what I thought was 'parallelism or rotor warping. The dealer informed me that brakes were out of warranty but did provide a visual check and concluded the rear rotors were warped and should be turned. I had the brakes serviced and the rotors turned within days. Again, prior to 10,000 additional miles, application of the brakes produced vibration. As time and miles progressed the vibration became extreme just as before so at some point the rotors were turned again with little if any improvement. I continued to use the vehicle until the situation was so severe the truck would appear to jump rapidly under braking and the more pressure applied the more violent the reaction. The severity was worse at increased speeds. Finally in fear for passenger safety I purchased performance ebc drilled and slotted brake rotors and performance pads and had those installed. The result after a short time was a worse, and even more severe, problem beginning well short of 10,000 miles. The situation is now so bad I have actually been thrown into adjoining traffic lanes. I am convinced a systemic problem exist.

Hands down the worst vehicle I have ever owned when it comes to brakes. After the initial brake warranty of 12,000 miles ran out, the rotors warped. Now at 97K+ miles I am about to install a fourth set of rotors (all four) at my own expense. At approximately $250 in parts per repair, plus my own lost labor time, and the sheer disappointment of knowing that my brakes could fail at any given moment, needless to say I am a little apprehensive about purchasing another Dodge truck. I do think that if something is not done to resolve the brake inadequacies then maybe legal action may have to take place. I have read countless complaints about the brake rotors installed on the "big horn" and "lone star" editions with the 20" wheels. I realize it may be a vendor issue and not necessarily Dodge's fault, but if Dodge knows about it, why won't they do anything about it; thus placing the blame on Dodge for continuing to utilize the supplier of the brake rotors in question.

I bought a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 in 2006. After 27,000 miles the rotors had to be replaced. The truck now has 57,000 miles on it, and I've had to replace the rotors a total of 3 times, and I've had to have the rotors resurfaced once. Each time I have to replace the rotors, the cost is about $260. There is no significant event leading up to the rotors warping. My truck is my general use vehicle. I tow a boat on occasion, which weighs less then 2000 pounds. This truck is rated for far more than that. Last rotor resurfacing took place on 24 Apr 09.

After only about 8,000 miles the brake rotors were so warped they needed replacement. The dealership chose only to turn them down removing rotor material to take out the warp. Obviously, the warping returned at 14,000 miles and the dealership claims the rotors are no longer covered by the warranty and wants to charge me for replacement. The factory rotor is absolute junk. The dealership denies that they are having widespread problems with the defective rotors but the internet indicates otherwise. Please force a recall.

2006 Dodge Ram 4X4 quad cab - front rotors replaced at 22,000 miles; rears at 42,000 miles, now at 60,000 miles all four are warped again. Rotors used to be good for 80,000 +; now only go for 20,000, and at $300 each set of 2; is really way too expensive.

Multiple problems since day 1. unresolved vibration issues-related to tires and driveline and alignment. Outer tierod failure. Frt right brake assy failure - near accident, vehicle veered uncontrollably off road at 40mph-towed to dealer. Intermittent stalling and hesitating and low oil pressure during operation- truck stalled several occasions while driving - unresolved at this time. Multiple fluid leaks from failed vehicle seals and gasket-issue resolved. Vehicle has been to authorized Dodge dealers for 9 visits for a total of 45 days down time. In my opinion, this is an unsafe and unreliable vehicle. Not eligible for massachusettes strict lemon laws due to being a multitude of different problems.

Bought 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 slt June 2006 100 miles on it on way home brakes pulled sharpley. Glendale, ca Dodge replaced brake rotors, pads, & calipers@500 miles, due to leaking...front end has been messed up since...vibrates at various speeds, so badly at times feels like front end is going to shake off...front right tire feels like it's warped at times, pulsing in brake pedal when braking, not always, have taken it in to dealer various times they claim nothing wrong...dealer replaced drive shaft last visit, 07/2007, with 20,000 miles...no change....additionally, transmission feels like it's slipping at times and at 60 mph, on level road, transmission feels like it's in to high of a gear, if I was driving a manuel I'd shift down at least 1 gear, at times the vehicle shakes with acceleration, the dealer states, you guessed it, there's no problem..I do not even like driving the truck on the fwy...finally, truck jumps whenever you hit a bump, suspension feels loose, like the shocks are blown, any uneven surface makes the truck unstable.. to say I am frustrated is an understatement!!! the incident dates are various I have been dealing with this for a year!!
