The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign numbers: 14V795000 (electrical system) and 06V038000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The manufacturer issued six tsbs for the electrical system and was notified of the failure. The failure mileage approximately 130,000.

Cruise control switch was on but not engaged. I pulled up to back into parking space, and with my foot on the brake pedal, the truck lunged forward into parked cars. The truck stopped, I put my foot back on the brake pedal, looking to make sure I was only on the brake pedal, and the truck lunged forward again into parked car. I took my foot off of brake pedal, put the shifter in reverse, and the truck took off at high speed in reverse, clipped a fire hydrant, and stopped about 100 feet away, backing into an earthen bank. All of this occurred in the parking lot at my place of work.

I was not using the cruise control and it was not wet weather, so there were dry driving conditions. I drive a peterbilt truck for a living and I Transport cars, and trucks of all size and makes, so I know what is not right for a vehicle engine. I would like to see Dodge take responsibility for this and be able to have this looked at by a trained Dodge mechanic. My wife is frightened to drive this truck now and we have our son who rides in this truck too. Sure would like to see them in a safe vehicle, was hoping Dodge was it.

2006 Dodge Ram 1500 big horn edition hemi yesterday I went to pass a truck and floored the pedal, I went to let up and noticed the pedal was stuck. So I slightly hit the brake but that didn't do much at 85 mph and accelerating. Was late at night and no 1 on the road so I let it accelerate and tried messing with the gas pedal with my foot but nothing would pop it out. So with the speedometer buried past 120 I put it into neutral came to a stop on side of the road. Tried messing with the gas pedal with my hand but nothing would pop it out. So sitting with rpms maxed out in neutral and no way to disengage the acceleration I turned the truck off and immediately the gas pedal popped out. I started the truck back up and drove home 50 miles with no incidents I just didn't floor the gas pedal. But next day wanted to see if I could recreate the incident. So on a safe road to try it I floored the pedal and same exact thing it got stuck only way to unstick is turn truck off. I did this 5 times and every time it happens. There is no mats or anything catching on pedal and no way to manually pull the pedal out it is really stuck when this happens. Only thing to get it unstuck is turn truck off and it pops out like instantly. Truck is sitting in my driveway and I am able to recreate the problem at any time. Im posting this for some suggestions on what I should do" possible lawsuit? report it to who? or just take it to dealership and get charged to fix it and no report of malfunctioning truck" if this had happened the first time during daylight or commute traffic not late night who knows what would have happened. And there are few reports of same thing happening to similar Dodge trucks on the various Dodge forums.

When the cruise control is turned on and set (above 30 mph) it continues to increase in speed until reaching over 100 mph. I took the vehicle to greenbrier Dodge in chesapeake Virginia, and they were unable to find anything wrong with the vehicle based on their computers. When driven, they had the same problem, but could not find a problem on their computers. The problem was then brought to Dodge and assigned a case manager. On 23 Sept 10, I was informed that this is not a safety concern by my case manager tina, and advised that Dodge could be of no further assistance with this issue.

Attempts to reproduce the problem at many dealerships has not helped because the sticking of the pedal is very difficult to reproduce when you want it to. Nonetheless, it has occurred at least six times and has made it so my wife is scared to death of the vehicle.
