When I purchased my truck, in December 2013, the dash has several LED indicator lights that didn't work. I didn't know at that time those LED's are controlled by the TIPM. I have had my electric door locks unlock several seconds after I locked my doors, this is random in nature. My horn goes off by itself weather I am in the truck or not. Two wires going to my tail lights are dead, nothing wrong with the wires. The TIPM cost $1,200.00 plus tax for a refurbished TIPM. I bought a used one for $600.00 and installed it myself, otherwise with labor, and tax on that labor, would be at least $1,000.00. Chrysler should come out with at least an improved replacement TIPM, if this thing fails on the road there could be an accident.

Everything was working exceptionally well until one evening when attempting to start the vehicle that it would not start, though it would still turn over. Furthermore at the time of the fact it was noted that I no longer heard the fuel pump working to get fuel to the system, also did not hear the multiple clicking sound from behind the dashboard that is associated with that function, which would lead one to believe that the relay had failed, only here it manifests in the form of the TIPM. Attempted to write and contact the world regarding this part for this vehicle and had absolutely no luck receiving a response even from businesses that specialize in this type of repair. I am currently stumped at what I need to do next as the vehicle sits in my driveway and is inoperable as of current.

With all my research and money spent trying to fix different problems, I as a professional technician, have narrowed the problem down to the tipm. The main problem is the windshield wipers doing whatever the F they want!

Whoever designed Dodge trucks with TIPM should be shot. If turn signal signal doesn't work the solution is $900 fix at dealer for new TIPM. If power sunroof doesn't work the solution is $900 new TIPM. That's why most auto mechanics drive Silverados. I'll never buy Dodge/Chrysler again. Bad design and no help from dealers.

My truck stalled on me while driving on the highway. Come to find out it was the result of a faulty TIPM. Tried to get replacement part from dealership and they said the part is on back order for three months. I have to be without a vehicle for three months. This is my second Chrysler vehicle will never buy another one after this.

This is the second time in under 4 years that i have been told I need to replace the totally integrated power module (TIPM). The cost of the part and labor is around $800. The first time my truck wouldn't start and had a few other issues. The second, and most recent time, my 4 wheel drive went out in the middle of a snow storm.
After calling Chrysler to complain that this isn't brakes and shouldn't need to be replaced every few years (This will be the 3rd TIPM in under 8 years) I was simply told all they could do is make a note of the problem.
It seems like from reading forums this is a recurring issue with Chrysler vehicles and something should be done.

Drivers side low beam won't come on, dealer reported the tipm was going bad and rewired into a different circuit. Now the high beam won't work.
Starter doesn't always engage. You must bank on the tipm box to get it to work.
