This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Dodge dealer.
I really liked the truck for the power and looks. But now I am thinking about the 2001 Chevy Silverado w/132000 MILES that I never had to spend a dime on except for tires and brakes. That truck had the oe exhaust on it and I traded it in for this headache.700.00 DOLLARS to replace front shocks is absolutly crazy.Maybe they charge what they do because the knew this was going to happen and they could make money off this screwup.

I went to replace passenger front strut and the bolt on the lower control arm will not come loose to remove the strut. The dodge dealership says there are no replacement parts, other than replacing the lower control arm. ($442) 39000mi. Its still a new truck, isnt it? I really need to get that bolt to come out. Thanks

The Dealer found the r f strut leaking during the 30,000 mile maintenance. Not only should it not be leaking that soon, but after charging me almost $500, which did not include an oil change, he then wanted $463 to change one strut ! I took it to another dealer who said it was covered under my extended warranty. Now I don't feel so bad about spending $2200 for the warranty. Dave

I have been having a lot of problems with my struts and tie rods the first time they were changed under my warrenty and about 8 monthes later I felt every bump I went over I checkd to see what was going on and the same strut they changed 8 months earlier was leaking again I went back to the Timmins dealer told them what was happening they checked it and told me they would change it they then proceeded to tell me my tie rods needed to be changed and my other strut was leaking they told me they would change it for $350.00 I told them when you changed my stuts the first time why did you not change both any one knows when you change one you change them both. I was very pissed off I did not give them $350.00 I argued with them to put on the other srut without charging me because they should of done it the first time when they changed it. I talked with many dealers and mechanics after that and was told by all of them that they always change both struts when struts have to be changed because it will not ride same. I cannot believe they did this to me just to save a couple of bucks. I called the boss and was told they only change one I told them... thats bullI! then proceeded to leave message after message to speek to the owner in the timmins office they just ignored me.
I will never deal there again. all I know is they should of done the job right and they did not. my warrenty is now done and i,m stuck with one good strut and one bad I now am hearing a lot of owners of the 2007 dodge rams 1500 are having the same problems with tie rods and struts I think there should be a recall I will be starting a survey to find out how many people with the same type of truck as I have had the same on going problems my vehicle is only 3 years old and my tierods and struts have been changed twice and need to be changed again something is very wrong and should be investigated. Thank You for taking the time to read this.

Both my front shocks were leaking at 8,000 miles (Yes 8,000 miles) and needed to be replaced. Great, no biggie though, under warranty. After this I bought an extended warranty just in case it happened again. Now, almost 4 years after I bought the truck and just 31,500 miles in the right front strut is leaking AGAIN. Manufacturer doesn't cover under my extended warranty since it's a wear / tear item. I'm sorry, but after just 23,500 miles since having them replaced the first time they should not be leaking AGAIN!!
Taking them into a different dealership on Monday to see if they can help. If they don't cover under warranty plan on selling truck and buying Toyota.
