Ram 1500 4WD 8-cyl

I own a 2007 Dodge mega cab 1500. I purchased the vehicle new and have had this issue almost from the beginning. This wobble has not just happened a couple times, it happens every time it is driven. I have tried to get the death wobble fixed several times. Each time I was told it was fixed but for me to do something else too. I have added a leveling kit, replaced tires to the shops specs, shocks, front steering stabilizer and all of the work the Dodge shop has done. The most recent event is that I picked up my truck from the dealer today from it being in the shop for the same reason I had it in the shop 4 other times. I was told the whole front end was fixed and promised the problem was taken care of. I paid the bill and left. I was 20 minutes away from the dealership and it started again. I pulled over and called the dealer. I was told no one was in service even though they did not close for another 30 minutes and to bring the truck back. The truck had already been there for almost a month. I turned around to go back to the dealer my wife was in front of me in her vehicle and the wobble started again. She moved over 3 lanes of highway because she thought I was going to flip the truck. The front right tire appeared like it was going to shake right off. I returned to the dealer and was told the only thing they could do was have me leave it again and someone would look at it tomorrow. Someone is going to be severally hurt with this problem. I have tried everything I have been told to do and nothing works. There are no recalls, no investigations, no one seems to care. Someone is going to have a serious accident or cause a death because of Dodge's faulty equipment. What are we going to have to do before this problem is fixed" is it going to be another Firestone tire issue" I cant afford to another vehicle but I can't imagine what could happen if it does not get fixed.

2007 - Dodge Ram 1500 megacab has the 'death wobble'. while driving at highway speeds, if you hit a bump or pothole, especially while making a slight turn, the front end suspension shakes uncontrollably until you are able to reduce speeds to approximately 25 mph. When the truck is shaking steering is nearly impossible and slowing the truck while maintaining control is extremely difficult. It has happened often enough that I can nearly reproduce it on demand. I do not feel safe when the shaking occurs and fear losing control of the vehicle.

Front end shakes to the point that you lose control of vehicle this only happens after hitting a bump or uneven pavement at speed greater than 60mph you have to come to a complete stop to stop the shaking.

I bought the truck 10/29/10 with 22 K miles on it and have 29950K now. I have had to replace the whole front end, rack and pinion steering system tie rod ends, leaky back window, third brake light, balance and rotate tires 3 times, rail dust, new carpet, leaky third light, new rotors and brakes at 24K, air cleaner, wipers. I questioned the front end when I bought it and was told it as just tires out of balance. When I picked it up and asked if the front end looked good because I noticed the front tie rod ends had a lot of play and I was concerned with issues due to that. I was told the front end was fine no problems with it. I later took it back and had all the front steering components replaced. I picked up the vehicle and had no alignment and was told they only set the toe. I had to keep the steering wheel a full half turn to the left to go straight. I paid for an alignment and the printout showed my toe was set under the specifications. I have tired unevenly worn due to bad front end components. I had to have the front head lamp replaced due to cracking inside the lens, a back seat that the latch did not work properly. After picking up the vehicle bolts that needed tightening due to carpet being replaced. I question how this vehicle was properly inspected and none of these things were noticed. I drive my daughter daily in this vehicle and it remains to have front end problems. I have done research and noticed a lot of issues with crashes relating to faulty front ends on these vehicles. It continues to remain unsafe.

2007 Ram 1500 4.7 automatic. 16000 miles. Front shocks, when you hit a bump, doesn't have to be much of one, there is a loud squeaking under the vehicle. Comes from both sides in front and rear. Haven't been to dealer yet. But the way the vehicle is riding, I believe the shocks in the front may have given out. Don't have any idea what's going on in back. Rubber bumpers maybe? *note* this was purchased new, with lowering of 2/4 from the dealer before delivery. Not sure how they did the lowering.

I just purchased a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. I noticed that everytime I go over a bump in the road the front bounces all over the place. It feels like the shocks are shot. When you hit a bump in the highway at 65 mph it feels like you are going to roll the truck. I saw my mechanic today, and he stated that the front shocks are bad. I am also concerned that there might be further front suspension issues. I'll know more when it gets out of the shop.

The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that oil leaked out of the front driver's side shocks. She took the vehicle to the dealer and they confirmed the failure. The dealer stated that they would order the parts and advised her to return in a week. A week later, the contact called the dealer and was informed that the manufacturer did not have the parts to repair the vehicle. She called Chrysler, but they have not returned the call. The failure mileage was 5,300.

Both front shock/struts have completely failed. The oil is completely drained from both. The driver's side and then the passenger side failed, coating the bottom of my truck with oil, and leaving oil spots on my driveway. The dealer can not get them. I've called around the country looking for them. All of the struts I've found are earmarked for other customer's trucks. I was told the struts are on national backorder with one distribution center holding a balance of -265. Meaning there are 265 struts on back order. So there are at least 132 trucks out there without function front struts, assuming both struts have failed. I have quit driving on the interstate due to the steering wander when I drive over a bump etc... what is going on? this needs to be addressed. Also, the dealer has been awesome! they have quickly and professionally fixed any and all issues, which have been minor.

2007 Dodge 1500 4WD pu. Left front shock started to leak with 25000 miles on truck. Dealer says they will replace the one shock when they get some in. Have friends with same truck and same problem and they also got 1 shock replaced. I think they should replace the pair. There must be something wrong with them.

2007 Ram 1500 shaking and vibration felt most on drivers side of truck. Hitting bumps uneven roads front left wheel feels like its going to fall off. And shaking throughout the vehicle. Took to dealer.was told they can feel shaking but don]T know what the problem is. They claim they did an alignment rotated the tires which was not needed and I ask to have tires spun balance at my cost. Truck was driven by tech and he said it was ok. I picked truck up upon driving home noticed no improvement. Truck was left at dealership for 7 days.so I didn't rush them truck had 16300 miles at that time. I have come to find out I am not alone with this problem truck has 18000 miles on now and still feels the same. Other than this problem. I love the truck.

While driving at about 65mph, my passenger side front wheel came off the vehicle. I was involved in a solo spinout, accident due to the wheel coming off. The cause was determined to be the lower A-arm of the suspension failing, and letting the ball joint fall out of place. When the wheel was recovered from the accident, it still had the stabilizers attached, along with the ball joint, and various parts of the steering, and 4WD. The accident caused me to hit a guard rail at 65mph, at a 45-degree angle. Amazingly, my airbags did not deploy on impact. I suffered whiplash due to the impact. The point of impact on the truck was the front passenger side.

Both front shock absorbers ruptured leaking out their fluid within weeks of each other. While at dealer having them replaced under warranty noticed three other owners with same problem. Was told by dealer that it only effects 1500 4X4 models and only front shocks. There should be a recall issued since this problem has such a high failure rate.
