About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.

The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer (ancira Chrysler, Jeep in san antonio, tx, 888-992-3393) per an unknown manufacturer recall to replace the seat covers on the front driver and passenger heated seats. The NHTSA campaign number could not be retrieved. The contact stated that the dealer used an incompatible material to replace the seat covers, which caused them to show signs of wear. The contact was concerned that the heated seats could burn. The contact also stated that the new seat covers did not fit properly and were replaced seven times to get the right size. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure was not remedied. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.

Driver side seat tore and has a big hole. The truck is a 2009 laramie with 69,000 miles currently. The seat tore around 37,000. Truck was sold with "leather package" but the seat is vinyl. I am a woman, weighing 130 lbs. And feel this product should have held up much better, especially since I paid extra for top of the line. Chrysler says they cannot do anything about it.

The drivers powerseat lays all the way back by itself & this has happened 4 times & it does it overnight. When I get in my truck the drivers power seat is all the way layed back. So far it has not happened while driving but after this last time it was layed back I am taking it in to the dealer before it does lay all the way back while driving.

The heated and ventilated option seats in the 2009 Dodge Ram fail prematurely. I have a 2009 Dodge Ram crew cab larmie with 1400 miles. Seat cover replaced at 800 miles by Dodge. Seat cover replacing again at 1400 miles. I also have a 2009 Dodge Ram quad cab, same heated ventilated seats. It needs to be replaced now with 415 miles total miles on the truck. Chrysler has a real problem with the heated ventilated leather trimmed seat covers and they will not acknowledge my complaint.

2009 Dodge Ram with ventilated seats. Perforated material between the leather trim with holes in it for air to pass shows excessive wear after 1236 miles. This affects 7 2009 Dodge Ram laramie trucks that I am aware of as of 2.6.2009.
