Ram 1500 Laramie 5.7L

My Dodge Ram 1500 2010 lost power on me while I was driving. I had to pull over to the side of the road, because I did not know what was going on. t wouldn't start so I had it towed to the Dodge dealership to see what was wrong with it. They told me that I needed a fuel pump relay and a fuel pump. They said the fuel pump relay shorted out and damaged my fuel pump. I checked the internet and found out that there were two other vehicles doing the same thing, however, they were on the recall list. The Jeep Grand Cherokee and Chrysler SUV's.I The electrical components was making the windshield wipers come on automatically, just like the other vehicles. I also learned that this relay can continue to cause the same problem in the future and eventually damage the engine. I am not happy about having to pay out of pocket for a none problem with the fuel pump relay on the Dodge trucks. I would like this problem looked into.
