frame rail rusted out where fuel tank is attached
Driver heard clunk under the truck when moving it in our parking lot. Went under to find the cause, found the front end of the fuel tank was hanging down, strap had come off. Attempted to re-attached the strap, discovered that the frame is rusted through where the strap hooks into it. Chrysler says its beyond the rust-out warranty period, so nothing they can do. This is a clean truck, no exposure to salt, and it gets washed a couple times a week. I've owned 4 dodge products in the past 10 years. If Chrysler doesn't accept some responsibility for this, this one will be my last!

I have 2011 Ram 1500 SLT with 57k miles. I was pissed when I noticed rust by the Hemi emblem on the right fender, then bubbles on the lower LF fender, and more bubble on the RR quarter panel above the wheel well. Now my mechanic tells me the frame is rusted out around the fuel tank strap and the tank is in danger of dropping out. I have to get the frame welded for $675. My '91 Silverado didn't have this much rust when it was 18 years old. Done with Dodge forever !!!! -- John
