I have a 2011 Ram 1500 quad cab with the 5.7 hemi engine. The tipm started faulting and not letting the fuel pump run and start the car. Then it stopped the trailer/tow lights connection in the rear not working while I was in the middle of towing a trailer. The anti-slip was activated all the time and it turned off the vehicles radio and back up camera.

I was just informed by my repair shop that my truck requires a new total integrated power module. This part costs $1300. It is responsible for regulating power to many electrical systems in the truck including the fuel pump. According to many online sources Chrysler vehicles from certain years, especially 2011, are known to have faulty tipms and that the problem can cause problems ranging from annoyances to life threatening accidents. My specific problem occurs both when I am attempting to start it and when I am driving it. I am unable to purchase the necessary repair due to the extreme cost of the part. The unpredictable nature of this part makes this problem extremely dangerous.

Truck won't start after sitting for a long period of time 5-6 hours, then it starts.power window & locks, visor lights, traction control, rear brake light, tire pressure monitoring light, all working intermittently. Ac outlet has never worked, key pulled out of ignition with truck staying running, key stuck in ignition won't release, big thing is truck shutting down while driving, now were afraid of driving it. Dealer looked at numerous times to blame our stereo in it. I have been researching it have found numerous complaints, don't know what its going to take for a recall, someone getting killed" Chrysler has recalled it in the Dodge durango, Jeep Cherokee and other vehicles but not Ram 1500, cost 1000- 3000 from dealer who is the only one to fix " it the tipm mother board that controls everything and I'm not even a mechanic please help this has been on going since 2011 when I bought it brand new

Started first on the highway when I lost power. I was going 70 mph on the truck and then on it's on it lost power and went down to 60 mph. Since then I have gotten an electronic throttle light malfunction that's blinking on my dash board, also the electronic stability control light and also the engine light is coming on. I have also recently replaced my fuel tank, because I would hear the fuel tank still working when my engine was off. I've read online that my fuel injectors and/or my fuse box may be going bad because of this.

Takata recall I have a 2011 Ram 1500 with 82,000 miles on it. I got my truck towed to Dodge because it was not starting. It would crank over but never start and then would lock up completely leaving me locked out of my vehicle and sometimes my key wouldn't even come out of the ignition. I told them all of this info and they told me it needed to be flashed! I paid $200 for them to flash my truck and supposively "update" it. A week later, it started doing it again. It wouldn't start or unlock! it even stalled on me while driving, causing me to lose all control! luckily I got it off the road safely: Even with it being locked up and having no control!! not to mention that I am 7 months pregnant!!! the next morning I wake up to go to the store, and it would not start at all!!! once again, got it towed to the same Dodge dealership!! I told them I want it done right this time since I paid for them to fix it the first time!!! I was not about to go into labor and not have a running vehicle to get us to the hospital!! they finally called me and said that it's a bad tipm! charged me $1,400 to repair it!! I get online to read about it, and I see thousands of other Ram 1500 owners with the same problem!!! then I speak to a friend who owned a Ram 1500 who recently crashed and totaled it due to the tipm going bad. If I would have crashed and lost my baby because of this issue, there would have been a huge problem! I do not get why this part has not been recalled yet for the 1500. 7 million other Chrysler vehicles were recalled because of a faulty tipm! people are going to get hurt or die because of this issue!!! something needs to be done!!!

Takata recall the tipm went bad in my truck at 85,000 miles. Truck will not start at times, it will lock me out of my own vehicle (thank god my kids were never locked in). The fuel pump runs constantly even when the truck is turned off because the tipm does not allow it to turn off. It affects all of my electrical stuff, including radio, power locks and power windows. My windows will role down out of nowhere when the vehicle is turned off, and the windows will not role back up. The backup camera will come on while I am driving forward, my radio will freeze up to where I can no do anything to it. My key gets stuck in the ignition and will not come out! the whole entire truck just locks up. When you're driving, and it decides to shut off out of nowhere, I lose all power!!! no brakes or steering!!! its uncontrollable!! there has been many many complaints of this problem with the tipm in the 2011 Ram 1500 including people almost getting into accidents. My friend also had this same problem and totaled his truck because it locked up on him while driving! all of these complaints and well aware of the problem, Ram still decides not to recall it or even fix it!! if I was aware of this and known the danger I put myself in and others in everyday, I would have never purchased this vehicle!!

I replaced a fuel pump, then a battery, because I was told that was the problem with my 2011 Ram 1500. Come to find out it is a defective tipm module that is now on recall for several other models of Dodge vehicles. My tipm is the same ones on recall except not on the Ram 1500. It has cost me $1,300. Not they want $1,200 more. Add me to any complaint and recall repairs you may have.
