Just took my vehicle into the shop on 2/17/15 due to the battery being dead as a result of the fuel pump running all night. AAA certified shop just informed me it would cost 1600.00 to replace the TIPM and program it for my key etc. I have no choice now other than to pick up the truck, park it in my garage, and disconnect the battery as we don’t have the money to repair it yet. If you need any further info please let me know, i.e. VIN # etc. Vehicle has 69000 miles on it and it is not covered by any warranty. this should be under the same recall as the Durango and Jeep recalls, I'm sure it's the same exact issue.

I have a 2011 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi. The vehicle began intermittently not starting. I attributed this to a failing battery. I had the vehicle tested and the battery was good. I was told that it was most likely my alternator. I replaced the alternator and charged the battery overnight. I drove to work the next morning and parked. I left work eight hours later and my battery was dead again. I jump started the vehicle and proceeded to the nearest auto parts store and purchased a new battery. I then drove home and parked the vehicle overnight. The next morning the battery was dead.
I determined that I must have a parasitic drain. I checked this and determined that I had an 11.5 amp constant draw. I traced this to the fuel pump. The fuel pump was running with the ignition off and the key removed. I drove to the local Chrysler dealership with the intent of purchasing a relay that I believed was stuck. I was informed that the relay was integrated into the TIPM. In order to repair this issue I would have to purchase and have installed a new TIPM at a cost of around $1,300.00. I was told that there is no recall on this item.
I left the dealership with the intent of researching this further prior to paying for the repair. I learned that this is not an isolated incident and that Chrysler is aware of the problem. To add insult to injury I received a recall notice in the mail the same day for my wife's 2011 Dodge Durango, you guessed it, for the TIPM due to a faulty relay for the TIPM. My vehicle will now not start and is in my driveway until I can get it to the dealership and shell out $1200.00 for the repair.

Well took the truck to the dealership in Athens, Texas and they ended up putting the wrong software on the vehicle and then blamed me for the issue and had to take it back to get it corrected and the dealership refused to inform me that there have been issues with the TIPM and on the third trip to the dealership after a simple oil change my truck started to act like a crazy person all over again. I have been stranded and left with out a vehicle due to Dodge's lack of attention to this matter and refuses to replace the TIPM when this is clearly their fault. Then the dealership tells me that to replace the part and the labor would COST ME 1500.00 DOLLARS!!!!!! REALLY!!!!!!!! This is not good business and poor leadership on the Dodge's part.

This might cost me $1200 out of pocket for a defective factory part that the company won't recall or fix at cost to them. The parts to fix the problem are on 2-4 month back order which is 100% bull sh*t!

my Ram 1500 will start not at times also will stall . So I change fuel pump still will not start now it will stall and putt and then stop running all together don't have money to take my truck to dealers. but from day one the truck would sound like the transmission was going to fall out .
The first time they said they could not make the sounds happen for them, so their was no problem. I took it to another dealer they told me it was the computer talking to the transmission and it would be ok, but make sure I change the transmission fluid on time in case it goes up. Now whats up with that? To me that's saying their is something wrong with it . Bottom line, they just don't want to fixes anything .
Now I am having this problem with the TIPM. The truck cranks for a long time so I had turn the key on and off 3 /4 times, then the truck starts up now it stall on me while I am pulling my boat or act like it cant handle pulling the boat. Now that is a big safety problem! I don't know what to do now . I should have got a Ford because had 2003 Durango and the computer chip in the transmission would go up once a month. I would not buy a Dodge again

I purchased a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500. I payed 20,000 dollars for the vehicle last November, I bought it 2 years old. It is now 3 years old and I have not had it for a year. The truck will not start. I took the truck to the dealership and they told me the TIPM module (a computer) has stopped working. It will cost 1500 dollars to get this repaired. 1500 dollars I do not have, mainly because i am spending a lot of my money on the monthly payments.
So I contacted Chrysler and they said because the vehicle has over 36000 miles that the warranty has ended and there is nothing that could be done. So I then contacted Ram over a live chat and they have told me that "because i do not get my vehicle serviced at one of their Ram dealerships that they could not be of financial service. I asked them, so because I do not give them my money they cannot help me? They said can we help with anything else?

3 year old TIPM (fuse box) just decided to stop working. Stranded my family out of state. Dealership had to order a part which took 3 business days to ship to dealership from Denver. Cost us $1200 and a car rental. Research online shows that Dodge/Chrysler are in a class action lawsuit regarding this item, but no recall has been issued.

I brought my 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 truck to the dealer after several days of it having difficulties starting. Per the dealership, they could not advise why the truck was having the issues as there were no problem codes saved in the computer. I mentioned to them about the forums in which I had read up on involving the faulty TIPM modules and was told that they were unaware of such issues. There was no recall conducted on this make and model of vehicle, however, there were recalls done for other similar year Dodge and Jeep vehicles.
I was originally told that my battery needed to be replaced and that it would fix the problem. So I bought a new battery and wouldn't you know, it didn't help. I had to bring the truck back to the dealer and once again advised them of the recent forum posts; this time I brought a video of the truck not starting just to prove my case. Sure enough, they said it was a faulty TIPM and that it was not covered under the warranty. So now here it is, over 200 bucks already invested in this problem just so they can tell me that the part alone is over 900 bucks and then labor costs.
At what point is the part going to be recalled if they know there is a problem with these parts?
