While driving on Fort Jackson the truck just turned off. Second time this has happened. Once again I was able to pull over and turn the vehicle off. After a few seconds it started and I continued. GLAD it was not on an interstate!

So much to say so little room. Any forum you read about the issues with the 2011 Dodge Ram... I've dealt with, fuel pump, TIPM board, valves, plugs, rods, cam, lifters, now new engine. Disgusted is being kind. $4000.00 from paying off and now paid thousands just so I could get it running, just to trade it in. Thanks Chrysler.

Bought this RAM used - it had a new engine with only 1,200 miles on it (put in by a local Dodge dealer). I bought the truck because it was very clean (some minor "issues) and the dealer who stalled the new engine confirmed the warranty was transferable to me. I had the repairs done (AC, Exhaust, and brakes), but after a few months of driving it, one day when l backed out of my driveway and shifted to drive the truck shut down. This happened a couple of times and now it shuts down WHILE driving at 35 - 40 mph. I initially didn't think much of it, but now I am VERY concerned. I had a local mechanic run diagnostics on the truck, but he could not pinpoint the reason for this "issue". He suggested I take the truck to a Dodge dealer, so they can run more tests. I am scheduling to do this, but in the meantime, I must say --- this is an extremely BAD problem and needs to be rectified by Dodge!!! After reading all of the similar reports on this same "issue", I am totally surprised that Dodge has not had a recall to get this fixed.

I really hope this does not get me or my family or someone else killed. When the engine quits I have no control to steer or stop.
Update from Jan 8, 2017: this happened again at 89757 miles

I have had a dodge ram 1500 longhorn Laramie edition had since 11/15. It's now august 2016 and on 3 different occasions the truck shut off on me in traffic from Houston to San Antonio. I use it as my traffic truck, it shut off when I'm at a light getting ready to accelerate and when I turn a curb the engine shut off. Can someone help me with these issues? This is my first dodge truck and I love it but it is getting annoying. I don't know what to do. I think Chrysler company needs to look into this issue....

In August, my son's A/C went out on his 2011 Dodge Ram Outdoorsman. It had less than 30,000 miles on it and he was away at college. It was still in warranty but of course this problem wasn't covered. We had it fixed anyway. The reason I mention this is because the much more serious stalling problem seems to be related to the loss of A/C as well from what I am seeing on several posts.
This Saturday, my son and 2 of his friends were driving on the highway on their way to Houston for a high school state championship football game. While going 70 mph, the truck completely shut down. No power steering. No power brakes. No acceleration. After reading all the posts about this problem, I am fuming.
The dealership has told us that they will need to run a separate diagnostics on each of those systems and have quoted us over $400 just to run the diagnostics. The tech has told us that he has never seen a problem like this before. I find that hard to believe since it took me about 5 minutes to find all kinds of posts stating the exact same problems all over the internet.
The warranty has since run out (in October) it is now December. Since we had the AC problem in August and it seems to be related, Dodge better fix this issue. More importantly, my son and his friends could have been in a serious accident due to this system shut down. Dodge needs to do a recall and fix this problem ASAP. A class action law suit doesn't bring back our loved ones.
Be responsible Dodge. FIX THIS PROBLEM!

This problem is one part of three, I will list all three problems separately but this is the most severe out of it all. My fiancé was driving my 2011 Ram 1500 5.7 V8 Laramie when all of the sudden the truck without warning lost power because the engine shut off WHILE IN DRIVE...DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, of course there were many other vehicles on the road at the time and after it happened of course power steering was lost and brakes very hard to push, I have not taken my truck to the Dodge dealership because I know they are going to charge me diagnostic fees as well more than likely tell me the wrong thing is messed up (fuel pump, battery, starter, alternator) when in fact it is the fuel pump relay inside of the TIPM module. Of course the TIPM module is non-serviceable and the fuel pump relay that is going bad inside cost five f@$@ing dollars. If you do a quick Google search you will see that there is dozens and dozens of forums and websites filled with the same thing, I don't feel like I should have to spend the $1200 to replace something that is very well known by now to be messed up. I will be making three separate complaints about the TIPM because depending on the day it does one of three possible things. The truck shutting off while driving down a busy road while my fiancé was driving by herself just happens to be the worst one, she has her own car but until this is fixed I'm no longer letting her drive the truck for her own safety. Step up and fix this Chrysler before it kills people!!

The TIPM needs replaced. Dodge dealer first put in a new fuel pump, thinking it was the problem. The truck still would hard crank and not start. I have had this going on for two weeks. This morning the Fuel pump would not turn off. Called Dodge and they did not want to help what so ever.....won't buy another Dodge.....funny, how there is a lawsuit on this.....I think I am going to join in on it.

While accelerating to a normal pace on a highway my vehicle suddenly lost all electrical power and the engine stalled. I was able to safely coast to the shoulder and stop. I turned the key to the off position and then tried restarting the engine, which was successful. I continued on my way. Clearly this incident could have resulted in an accident and injury in less lucky circumstances.

I was completely pissed with the new dodge Ram after switching from GMC truck
The truck completely died on a camp road and I had to wait 3 hours for tow truck....took dealer 5 hours to find problem and I was without truck for almost 2 weeks.....stilll nervous driving it because of problem.....wanted replacement truck but Chrysler refused....i am not happy as I could have been killed if this had happened on a busy highway.......

Lifter failure, engine stalls completely without warning. On 2011 Ram 1500. File a safety recall complaint with the NHTSA regarding the lifter/cam failure, as if don't, the result could be deadly.
