The contact stated that while driving at 80 MPH, a warning message displayed reading "Service charging system soon", after which the infotainment system intermittently functioned properly. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the alternator harness. The vehicle was repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign 24V267000 (Electrical System, Power Train); the VIN was included and the vehicle had already been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 36,000.

The contact also stated that while driving at various speeds, an audible warning chime was coming from the vehicle with the temperature gauge was hot(H). The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where coolant was added; however, the failure returned. The vehicle was later taken to a dealer where the water pump was replaced. The contact stated that the failure recurred twice. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was given a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 57,000.

My 2021 Bronco Sport suddenly died on [XXX]. The parking brake engaged unexpectedly, locking all four brakes and resulting in a significant skid mark. An error message flashed: -??Park Not Available. Apply Park Brake Before Exiting, -?? and the park gear light blinked. I turned off the engine again, but the car was dead when I tried to restart it. After getting a jump start, the car turned on. However, the parking brake engaged again shortly after. I was able to drive it off the road. My wife, a research librarian, found that many others have reported issues related to -??Sudden Death Syndrome." See below. [XXX] [XXX] ). The car was towed from PA, where we were visiting, to Stanford Ford, where we purchased it on [XXX]. On 11/13, the dealership told us there was a short circuit in the wiring connected to the solenoid and estimated $900 for labor. At noon on 11/15, the technician was test-driving the car. By 4:17 PM, I was told it was ready. 5 min. later, they told me it wasn't ready due to another issue. At 11:15am on 11/18, we were informed the issue was a short circuit in the transmission, costing $13,000. How is that possible? The car is only three years old! We've faced many recalls with this car, the last just this past August, but the most dangerous issue is the unexpected engagement of the parking brakes, causing chaotic behavior. Given the number of similar incidents, it's hard to believe there hasn't been a recall. We could have been injured or even killed if we had been driving over 40 mh and driving in heavy traffic, or worse, on the highway. The Fire Department was called, and the engine temperature was checked inside and outside the vehicle and it was determined that the engine had overheated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer to be diagnosed and it was determined that the water pump was leaking, the alternator had overheated, and the battery had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 32,468.

The vehicle was taken to Advance Auto, where the battery was tested, and the contact was informed that the battery was in good condition and did not need to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the battery replacement was recommended; however, the dealer informed the contact that there was no guarantee that the battery replacement would correct the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 49,000.

My ford bronco stalled when I was slowing down at a traffic light. The entire car shutdown. The steering wheel locked up and the car could not be put into neutral. After about 15 minutes the car was able to turn on again. The stalling out at an intersection put me in danger by putting me in a situation where I was stuck in active traffic without the ability to move my car to a safe area off of the main road. There were no warning lights or messages prior to the car completely shutting off at the traffic light.

My car was stopped at a red light and when I hit the gas to go my entire car shut off. I was not able to turn my hazards on or put my car in neutral to push my car out of traffic. This is a huge safety concern because a car could-??ve rear ended me since I wasn-??t able to put hazards on. I attempted to jumpstart the vehicle but that didn-??t work. I had to get my car towed and sent to the dealership. The issue sounds like the recall notice 24S24 - however my bronco sport says I don-??t have any recalls. After talking to other bronco sport owners who had similar issues, they said they had to pay several hundred dollars to replace the battery with an AGM battery because the bronco sport isn't equipped to handle all the electronics.

The vehicle was traveling on a major highway when at a red light the car stopped and the auto start/stop engaged and the car turned off. After the car turned off I could not restart it. All power to the car was lost. No lights, radio, nothing. I attempted to put the car in neutral to move it off the highway, however the car is designed in a way it can not simply just be shifted into neutral. I grabbed the owners manual and read I needed to pull the manual park release cable located under the steering wheel. I pull the cable nothing. At this point I-??ve called the local police department and they send out 2 officers. They attempt to shift the car into neutral as well, to no luck. I read the electronic parking break needs to be turned off but the car needs power to do this. My car has no power. A man comes with a jumper box and attempts to jump the car when it starts smoking. The battery has full voltage however it-??s not transferring power to the car. I have to sit in the middle of a highway for 2 hours until a tow truck can tow my car. In those 2 hours I was at a significant risk of bodily and property damage and also risking harm to the other drivers on the road. Ford has no suggestion how to fix my specific problem. They-??ve not taken into account a situation where there is no power to turn off the electronic parking break, to pull the cable and shift the car into neutral. The Ford service department had no idea how to replicate the situation to try and fix it. All I asked Ford for was a way to safely be able to remove my car from the middle of traffic the next time it happens. They have told me they can not help me. The Delaware city police department sent two officers who witnessed the event. Prior to the loss of power there was no warning. $1000 later I had a new starter put in and Ford did some recall work on it. However in my opinion the car is unsafe in the event power is lost again on the road.

I was in the turning lane at a light and the Bronco died completely. No power at all. The brakes were locked and I could not get in neutral. Police came to push the vehicle out of traffic but we didn-??t know how to get into neutral. After googling that part we were able to push into a parking lot. I had to pay for a tow truck ($125) and towed to the dealer. When they called they said the Bronco went into safety mode because the battery was low. I said why didn-??t the battery light go on. There was no warning just a dead vehicle at a busy intersection. We are lucky no one rear ended us because we had no access to the hazard lights. Dealer thinks that the auto start stop kicked in while waiting for the light and the battery didn-??t have enough volts to start the vehicle again causing the whole car to shut down. Really that is a horrible feature because again it was dangerous to have cars angrily pull around you because you are sitting there. I couldn-??t imagine with the car being black what would of happened at night! The dealer changed the battery and claimed there is no other issue even though the car gives no notice of anything wrong.

I was in the middle of nowhere in Oklahoma on the freeway and my entire dashboard lights went out. It went black. I did not know what that meant and was scared to death that my car was just going to stop running on the freeway! I have read online that many many other people are experiencing this problem. After they recalibrated my system for the last recall this all started happening. A warning comes up saying charging system service now and the battery light flickers on for a minute and then it goes away. When it happened on the freeway at night all of the lights on my dash just totally went black. It needs to be addressed and fixed. Ford has no idea what it is and wants to charge us all kinds of money to try to figure it out. I just saw jeeps and rams were recalled for a similar issue. Why aren-??t the fords being recalled??

When I came to a stop (stop sign) the vehicle's complete electrical system shut down, all went black. I couldn't turn on hazard lights or anything. (seems related to the recall notice). I waited to see if any change occurred, attempted restart, but nothing was operable. I connected a jump start battery and successfully restarted the car... all seemed ok afterward. This seems life endangering as a potential hazard.

This car was purchased at FAJARDO FORD IN PUERTO RICO. The car remains in PUERTO RICO where I am working temporarily. I gave FLA address for mailing address. This vehicle shut down while driving [XXX] taken in they did a recall. The car stopped [XXX] with witness. The car shut down on [XXX] at Fajardo Ford by parts dept, [XXX] car shut down again. I called Ford about the issue and they did the recall but they denied repairing it while in warranty because they said they could not replicate it. I am aware this is happening with other Bronco Sports. It is a computer issue. If I unplug the cable to battery and plug back on it resets and starts again. Nightmare of all my car purchases ever. This newer 2021 Ford Bronco Sport stopped working and lost all power on Feb 21, 2024. The vehicle had just 37,031 miles on it. To problem solve, A neighbor jumped it. I turned the vehicle off after a few minutes and it would not turn over and start again. We jumped it again and let it run for about 10-15 minutes. Thinking it was safe to drive, I turned out of my parking lot thinking it was fine and the vehicle began to shake and putter as though it was losing power. It felt unsafe to drive it so I pulled back into my driveway and had it towed to the dealership for repair. Ford dealer told me it was the battery. Since then I-??ve had issues with the drivers side window getting stuck when rolled all the way down, sometimes the vehicle has a hard time -??catching-?? to start when I press the break and the power button simultaneously, it also feels like its lulling into between gears when I am going at a low speed. Basically the Vehicle feels like there is an electronic issue. I paid $517.50 for a new battery and labor. A battery should not be failing at 37k miles on a car that was bought brand new. I-??ve leased and bought brand new cars since 1992 and I-??ve never had to replace a battery on a new vehicle. Now, for the past week, this vehicle feels very tight and sounds like it-??s almost grinding when I turn right or left out of my parking stall at home. It feels like there is a power train issue.
