The contact owns a 2019 Ford Ecosport. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle was jerking with the "Reduce Engine Power" message and wrench warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the thermostat housing and engine block thermostat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.

The contact drove the vehicle to a dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the engine needed to be replaced due to a failure of the oil pump. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact researched online and became aware that there were numerous complaints on the NHTSA website about the "low oil pressure" failure and subsequent engine damage. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.
