When you push down the brake pedal, the brakes do not engage. Two different mechanics, one at les schwab, and one at the Ford dealer have confirmed that the brake booster part no. At4Z2005 is defective. Many Ford models and model years have been recalled for this same defective part. When asked, Ford has refused to replace the defective part for my vehicle. • 207,000 miles
I was driving my 2010 Edge in stop and go traffic. The cars in front of me stoped suddenly so I slammed on my brakes. My brake pedal went all the way to the floor without stopping my vehicle. ( all of this is happening in seconds traveling about two to three car lengths)I released my foot and the brake pedal returned to a normal position. I pressed the brakes again and the pedal traveled all the way to the floorboard again without stopping my vehicle. I released pressure again and this time the pedal shot back hitting my foot with such force that it caused a lisfranc dislocation and severe bone bruising to my right foot. (I lost my job and will be unable to work for at least six months, if I am able to regain full function due to this accident.)through the pain I depressed the brakes a third time and they went to the floor again, not stopping my vehicle and resulting in my vehicle crashing into the vehicle in front of me at a relatively slow speed. The airbags did not deploy.

  • 99,800 miles
I purchased the 2010 Edge from my mother in 12/ 2018 when she purchased an escape. 1.5 years later, in mile 99,800, I had a problem with my brakes. I was coming to a stop at the end of the street onto a major road at the exit of my neighborhood. Going down a hill, I always go slowly to allow myself proper braking time, as it is a very steep hill onto a major and very busy road. I experienced a lack of brakes. I stood on them as hard as I could, and it barely slowed me down enough to prevent me from going into oncoming traffic. After I recovered my heart rate, I turned around and went home. I then brought the car to my local mechanic, he told me he was uncomfortable working on it, as he discovered an issue with this according to Ford. I then brought it to a local Ford dealership, as the Ford dealership my dad purchased the car from and all the service was done at was, was on the highway, 40 minutes away. A dangerous commute due to the intermittent lack of brakes. The bulletin/extended warranty is 13N02 ' extended warranty coverage on brake booster. I had the brake booster assembly fixed by the dealership, who informed me that it had a 10-year 150,000-mile service bulletin, and it is not covered. First, the car is 10 years old. Second, it was less than 100K miles on it. Also, the mileage was low, due to the little my parents drove the car. The average mileage on the car currently is 10,000 a year. I believe the issue would have exposed itself within the warranty period if the car were driven with typical mileage (over 10,000 a year).I am asking you to reimburse me for the work done on my car for this issue, as I feel that it should have been covered under your extended warranty, if not as a safety issue that could have cost me my life or major medical issues as well as a loss of or major damage to my car. The total amount including tax was $841.43.

I was told that my brake pads only needed to be replaced and that they had done it, when I picked up my vehicle, the brakes were extremely hard and I could not stop my vehicle, I took my car back and they stated my master cylinder was bad, they noted it on my invoice, but did not discuss it with me and gave me my vehicle without notifying. When I took my car back for repair, they cracked my windshield and vomited in my vehicle

Brake booster. Without warning the brake pedal on my vehicle became extremely hard during the middle of my drive. I was in a yield to merge situation where I could not stop my vehicle in the proper amount of time. Luckily I was not involved in an accident. The part on my vehicle needing replaced is the same part under recall for the same manufacturer but my VIN number was not included in that recall. I am upset that this problem was previously detected but my VIN number was not included on the recall and I had no previous knowledge that this could potentially be a safety hazard for my vehicle.

I was driving in the city and as I slowed coming to a stop light I pressed the brake and it was hard and wasn't stopping. I got it stopped. I headed home and a car was suddenly stopping in front of me, I stepped on the pedal and it went to the floorboard I had to pump to get it to catch I had to swerve into the next lane to avoid an accident. As I pulled into driveway and pressed on brake if hissed and chirped, this is very dangerous, I only have 66,000 miles on my car. Why has Ford not been recalled on this matter from all the complaint out there about this all the way back to 2007? my husband is a car guy and he said it was the brake booster failing. Descriptions from other complaints and mechanical information comfirmed it. Along with Ford attempt to minimize the large problem on all Edge vehicles with an extended warranty on the brake booster on some vehicles # 13no2 and in complaints on this site.
